As a beginner is it ok to start with a delicate fabric like silk any suggestion?

It is okay. But as a beginner, you may find delicate fabrics challenging. As long as you give yourself a break and remind yourself that delicate fabrics are difficult to work with, you'll be fine. Frankly, I find silk not so problematic because it has a little grip to it (that poly chiffon doesn't) and that makes it a little easier to handle. And if you do well with a delicate fabric, more props for you! Just take your time and don't worry if it isn't perfect the first time. Keep practicing. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
