Some of them just need a color balance. I want them to look as natural as possible. Would this powder cement that you mentioned, work for something like this?

Straight acryl60 is even better than just diluted acrylic in your paint mix. Superior bond, reduced porosity, and durability. Sealing with silane is even better afterwards. I would also add to your video to make sure that the steps are wet cured after setting. Like stucco, I keep it moist for at least 24 hours.

The diamond cup you are using is for grinding, but if you have paints, adhesives, or other polymers on the surface, it's just going to smear them around--potentially deeper into the surface. There's another accessory you can use with the same rotary tool--it's called Diamabrush, and looks like row of putty knives set at a 45deg angle. There's a KZbin video that shows a comparison between the two, and it's about 4-5X more effective in this scenario.

Another way you could probably have gone with this is to use your grinder on the horizontal/up faces to a CSP 2 (Concrete Surface Profile), and then choose a self-leveling epoxy, with traction/non-slip additive like aluminum oxide. That would have gotten you a lot closer to a smooth/mirror finish, and it potentially it would withstand water corrosion longer.

I don't have any cracks or texture issues with my 12 by 12 concrete patio, it is just dirty. It has stains on it. I do not want to mess with a power washer because it's a pain in the butt and I don't want to use concrete paint because it will eventually paint and I'm lazy and don't want to do the prep work. It seems like there is no prep work for this over than lightly misting the existing concrete. Is this an ok idea to use this to just get rid of stains and make the concrete look refreshed and new again? I would think think it would be thick enough so that the stains would not be seen through it? I don't want prep work and this seems like a way to get away with not prepping anything. Thoughts? Your project looks fantastic!

You forgot to spray paint on it to seal it, preferably silane, but paint works. Your coat will have 5% strength because it only reacted for 5% strength. You want it to react completely for 100% strength, Paint over it with either clear coat or silane, or any cheapo paint, leave it there for a year.

What is overlay? Will it last longer? My mom's porch has a whole 3ft diameter area that cracked off from the center. A professional 'fixed' it and painted it 10 years ago & now the paint is peeling in that spot it's failing / sunken crumbling away there. So I think I should sand off all paint and smooth w a diamond wheel grinder he mentioned then use the same stuff mortar mix (liquidy) to build it up then resurface. The porch is huge. 15x 7ft. I want to do it cheap but would love it 2 last another 10 years. 🤣. Any better ideas would be appreciated.

@@beverlycharles6534 Overlay is a concrete mix that has no rocks, mix water into it until it's a easy workable pliable but wont fall off the sides when you trowel it in. ANGIEB52 The concrete you were applying the mortar mix to could have pulled all the moisture out of the mortar mix. Drying it too quickly causing it to crack and fall out.
