Would've liked to see more pics of the finished product. One quick close up kinda makes me think it all doesn't look as good as the one area in the pic.

I have a 1900 square ft driveway. The previous owner applied bright white concrete resurfacer over the grey driveway and sidewalks in 2004. It has all popped up from the freeze/thaw cycles. It looks like shit now. I have three choices; do nothing, replace the concrete ($17,000) or grind the resurfacer off and reapply.

Or you can just mix portland cement, bonding agent, and use more water than usual. and paint it with the portland
@kurtfrancis46212 жыл бұрын
One major difference is portland doesn't have the fine grit within the product. You'd have to mix sand in with it to achieve a similar result.
@taddmcmichael90612 жыл бұрын
That process is not even close to resurfacing conrete. Portland whitewashing is just changing the color to give appearance of new concrete. That is the equivalent thought process to painting a room and thinking it would hide a poor drywall job.
@mikewelch3903 Жыл бұрын
Medic311, those other two comments about requiring fine sand are correct.

After applying this product would it be possible to put down Epoxy floor sealer?
@diyconcrete76713 жыл бұрын
Yes it would, however, you wouldn't want to apply an epoxy outside, as epoxies are not UV stable and would yellow quickly from the sun. Epoxies are also high build, which would result in the surface being slippery outside.
@brandocommando44593 жыл бұрын
They do make polyaspartic that is UV resistant to go over epoxy, and you could also use either fine beads, or sand for tough grit like a sandpaper finish

What if I don’t want a broom/rough finish but a smooth showroom one instead?
@diyconcrete76713 жыл бұрын
If you were inside, you would want to use the MicroTek, which would give a nice smooth finish. SureBroom has larger sands in it, which prevent it from getting very smooth.

100%. I’ve pressure washed the next day several times before. It’s incredibly durable stuff if directions and prep are followed correctly. I’m doing my sisters 750sqft pad this weekend. I recommend a good sealer tho!! That makes it wine proof😂

Why do this when you must repeat the process every two years?
@diyconcrete76713 жыл бұрын
You don't need to repeat the whole process, only the sealer must be reapplied every two years or so, as it will wear down with weather, traffic, etc. Thanks!
