Matt Venuti plays the "Hang"(pronounced "hahng").
Matt Venuti is an award-winning composer, performer and multi-instrumentalist. A renaissance in music instrument design is exploding world-wide and it started in Berne Switzerland with an instrument called a "Hang". Since its inception in the year 2000, the Hang has become the most exciting new acoustic instrument of the 21st Century and one of the most captivating and versatile of all time. Matt Venuti is one of the world's premier players of the instrument. Better described as a sound sculpture than a typical instrument, Hang means hand in Swiss-German and in Matt's hands it is pure magic!
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
