Okay, let’s point out obvious issues with the “logic” used by the writers of this episode. In the first 2 scenes we’v learned: 1. Deering just won a varsity basketball game 2. It’s Thursday night 3. The choir member wants to be done with rehearsal BEFORE 8 pm. The basketball game, on a school night, wouldn’t have started until 7 pm. I guess it could be 6 but that’s stretching it. How in the blue hell did they get in a full game, have time to travel to the church, start AND end choir practice and get home before 8 pm???
