I think most people came here didn’t understand the lyrics at all, but we can listen to it for hours and connect to it. That’s the beauty of music, you don’t need to know any background, language and culture to simply enjoy the masterpiece, so music connects everyone on this planet regardless their ethnicity. I love you all.

This music is often used in Mongolian marriages of couples. Because every marriage from generation to generation uses this song to symbolize being happy like the rising sun and setting together like the setting sun. Our brothers, our Inner Mongolian brothers, sang a little differently, but they sang beautifully without a melody. Thank you all. . .

I have been trying to get family and friends to understand that for years. On the rare occasions I have gotten them to listen to Asian pop, I can tell they decided not to like it before the video started playing. Eyes, ears, and minds were closed. I thought it might be because my generation had The Ed Sullivan Show and because we were born after WW11 immigrants from all over brought their music. A fair number of our musical movies had people singing in French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Asian Indian, Chinese, etc. I can't understand most of our rappers, but I used to enjoy it (it got too gangsta and T&A for me). I just discovered some Mongolian groups tonight. Like all I have heard. Don't understand a word and don't care.

Rough translation: The rising sun sets behind dunes; unforgettable 3 years past but I'm still with you in my dreams; the rising sun sets behind mountains, though we haven't seen each other for 3 years we're still together in my dreams while I'm asleep. Hanggai is great for their messages, not just music, like they try to raise the awareness of environmental damage on the steppe with the Vast Grassland, as well as historical oppression on ethnic Mongolians with Gada Meilin, they just feels different from other bands like Nine Treasures.

THE RISING SUN [Lyrics - English Translation] The rising sun will go down The fog is my mate Even unforgettable 3 years are passed We belong together in my mist of dream The growing sun will go down The mist is my mate It has been 3 years since we didn't meet though We belong together in my dream in sleep (i'm truly sorry for my bad english. Mongolian is literal language and different words are translated into same word in english. I'm really not sure about how to deliver beautiful meaning of some collocation words)

It's a Mongolian folk song about a soldier's feeling for his bride whom he misses greatly. In old times the military service was indefinite.Rough translation: The rising sun sets behind dunes; unforgettable 3 years past but I'm still with you in my dreams; the rising sun sets behind mountains, though we haven't seen each other for 3 years we're still together in my dreams while I'm asleep.

This is so beautiful. I love listening to The Hu but there is a symphonic metal quality to this band that feels more nuanced, almost like a fuller fusion of folk and metal. Absolutely love both styles though - the rugged one by The Hu and the the more layered one by this band!
