Agreed Those rope powered machines are an art form to operate I used to be involved with a group who looked after the ONLY preserved walking dragline in Western Europe (Bucyrus Erie BE1150 "Clinchfield") I still don't know how people do what they do (or did) just using ropes???????

Hi Kim Wow! that shop looked a great place to do the Christmas shopping . Love the sound of those big diesels and that Peterbuilt tractor unite looked fantastic . You did a good job on that drag line Bucyrus , they are very tricky to operate. Nice selection of new tools , those wobble sockets are very handy on some jobs. And the dead blow hammers are good. Great video.

Well done on the drag-line, not an easy machine to master but for a first go you did well. My first such machine was an RB22 but crane only but those old rigs with all those levers are quite a handful compared to joystick controls. My first excavator was a 12 ton chain drive track, lever control and one had to make like an octopus to drive it, can't think of the brand just now but it was a 1964 vintage. Glad you had a fun time and good additions to the tool kit.

What a great video, Kim! These American rigs are cool but I guess you're glad you drive a Topline because of the space 😁😉 Thanks for your cool videos, also very interesting for an office nerd like myself, who has a love for all kinds of machinery and engines. Greetings from the Netherlands 👋😃

Great video on your travels, good to see some over the pond action in USA , that Matt seems a really nice chap with a larger than life character, so much fun 👍👍👍😊It was nice to see you had time to enlarge your tool collection with some good tools , really like those twisty sockets myself , but haven’t got any 😩In the superstore did Mucka manage to find any goodies ????
@CalamityKim1 Жыл бұрын
Matt is a really nice guy. Everyone we met was actually. You can’t go on holiday without looking at tools from another country. To be fair some companies over here use the same tools just branded in their names. The coloured sockets I think are sealey. Mucka found some stuff as well. He was a bit more reserved than I was however 😁

Some trip! Are the socket rails the twist lock type? If so they rock, ive had mine for prob 15yrs, Couple points to note with them, loose the mag strip as it picks up sharps and scratches like hell if it sticks to a painted surface/wing/bonnet etc, if your sockets have a detent hole, line it up with the rail ball, they stay on better, and goons that dont realise ya need to twist are the biggest killer of them, but i rekon your goons trainable😎

In my book Matt is the real deal, great guy all the way around. The Klein DVM is very nice, own a lot Klein hand tools but no meters, I'm a Fluke man. I think Mike was just showing off, your first buck was smooth and no jerking. We don't see a lot of female activity on the Diesel Creek channel, maybe Eva once in a while. Good to see you got the chance to set Matt straight.
@CalamityKim1 Жыл бұрын
Matt is such a nice guy. Eva is so lovely as well. Flukes are just so expensive. I looked at getting a fluke but really didn’t fancy spending a few hundred on one. How he tipped it was so cool though. I’d love to spend an hour on it. Although I had jelly legs, the pedal are hard on the legs when they’re as long as mine! Thanks for commenting.
