In Philadelphia Tuesday night, home plate ump Bob Davidson ejected a heckling fan. Emmy-award winner Hank Azaria, the man behind many of your favorite Simpsons voices, reads Davidson's statement in-character(s).

Pfft, someone writes a positive comment about a beloved cartoon classic and bitter people just have to interject with their bad attitude. 🙄 Fyi, professional critics often exaggerate as well, do you email them to explain why they're wrong? Here's an example from The Guardian "The Outpost review: Game of Thrones - as written by a microdosing monkey" Do you really take from this that a microdosing monkey wrote GoT? 😂😂😂 It's not that serious. 🤪

@XAVR_7 жыл бұрын
Almost definitely
@gredangeo7 жыл бұрын
Why would his opinion change? Some people are still that stereotype. Not all of the traits at once like Apu, but that is the nature of that character. Walking stereotype. Besides, you can't be picking sides on what stereotypes you can and can't mock. Homer is a stereotype of various lazy dimwits, so people can't be choosing that, that is ok because he's a white American vs Apu being Indian. So come on now.
@caomhan847 жыл бұрын
Thing is, some Indians sound exactly like Apu. Not all, of course, but some absolutely do. And many Indians own convenience stores. That is an inescapable truth. The Simpsons is based around stereotypes, parody, social commentary...it's run so long because it remains applicable and remains topical, and the characters can fit any situation. I don't know why so many people get upset over Apu, especially since the stereotypes of white people in Indian films and TV shows are very similar.
@TheAngryMoth1046 жыл бұрын

Around 1990, I went to an Oakland A's game with friends from Podiatry school, guy from Boston, one from upstate NY and 3 Canadians, Vancouver, Calgary and Sault St Marie, which is apparently Gretzky's home town. Cheap seats, upper deck behind home plate, middle of the week in June, evening game, not well attended. Umpire made some questionable calls, so I yelled at him. I commuted on a mountain bike to school in SF, had pretty good lungs. I yell he sucks, he needs glasses, and is welcome to use mine, pretty loud, loud enough that the guy from Vancouver sitting next to me is complaining I am going to make him deaf. The crowd was sort of quiet when I yelled, umpire stopped and turned around, so I stand up and yell at him again. I blame Canadian beer for that one
