Your commentary is great i like that you actually care about some of the characters and explain their situations like luanne not wanting the trailer tipped back

Hank is not selfish he is just clised of cuz of his upbringing, he is actually considered weak by Cotton standards they do a good job of showing the softening of the generations in this show and the character development is really good if u pay attention

There's a lot of truama for Luanne in that trailer, and if we're honest, she's not emotionally ready to be on her own anyway. Hank needs to chill! She's my favorite character in the series!

Hank didn't even clean out the trailer. If he wanted her to move out and make it easier he should have cleaned it out and redid the inside so that it looks nothing like the old place, hell even ask her to help so it looks like she wants it. Would have made this transition ALOT easier.
@SnowyWolborg Жыл бұрын
Because of Cotton, yes, it all goes back to him, Hank is almost dangerously out of touch with his and other people's emotions. Hank is a man who likes routine and things close to home. He's lived in the same town his entire life, has had the same friend group his entire life, and lives on the same street as those three friends, drives the same red truck for years, etc. So for Hank, the idea that Luanne has trauma connected to that trailer doesn't link up because for him, the trailer is present, and she once lived there, so there should be no problem with her going _back_ there.
@env0x Жыл бұрын
yea it's just shitty of hank that doesn't stop to think what it would be like for him to have to move back to the house where cotton abused his mom. he knows what its like to be in a dysfunctional family and the pain of being around that environment. he's just choosing to not acknowledge it at all.
@digitaladventurer2142 Жыл бұрын
@@env0x Its actually natural. He's spent nearly 40 years supressing his emotions and taking routes that avoid any kind of emotional talk or action. You can't just expect him to forget all that.
@env0x Жыл бұрын
@@digitaladventurer2142 you right. i gotta give hank credit where it's due he's built a remarkably stable life for himself and his family and he did it all on his own. i don't think people should hold onto the past. but they shouldn't ignore it either. and at the cost of forgetting his roots hank is unable to empathize with luanne, even though deep down he really could, and forcing her to face her past even though he himself is unwilling to face his own. but that's just what trauma does to people.
@silverblade357 Жыл бұрын
@Digital Adventurer Luanne is his niece, though. He has been married to Peggy since before the girl was even born. Hank has always been her uncle. FFS, her family lived one county over, so it isn't like he didn't know her beforehand. I could appreciate this if Hank was like, "She needs to grow up and get out on her own, and she has the advantage of a home waiting for her." That would track with his mindset and what he would've wanted as a young man. Instead, he tells his wife that her family isn't their family and the only emotion he associates with her brother's little girl is fear and annoyance.
@digitaladventurer2142 Жыл бұрын
@@silverblade357 Yeah but even in early seasons you see how repressed Hank is even with his own son and wife so of course a nice would be even harder to connect with

I grew up in Alabama, in what's called, "Tornadoe Alley", every year there were multiple tornadoes every...fucking...year, very scary, especially when the time of year comes around, day by day, I'm looking over my shoulder, scared. Watching the News morning, noon and night, because I never knew if I was going to see another day.

Yep, a real tornado does sound like a freight train. I heard one touch down across town when I was little., and one touched down on campus when I was in college(I was in my dorm room around that time. I felt the building shake a little.), a couple of weeks after Hurricane Katrina passed through.

I think the biggest running theme about Hank throughout the series is honestly his emotional awkwardness. He has empathy for her situation but looks at everything too logically and forgets about emotions because he always represses his own. Instead he just goes to fix the problem his way and doesn't realize there is a deeper issue he doesn't realize, until someone points it out. XD Honestly now that I think about it my partner is much like Hank. Nick sees something is bugging me but is to awkward to ask. However they know I'm emotional at times and will just be there for support. Honestly they've been my rock and despite personality quirks, I wouldn't trade them for the world. 🥰 If you find someone who can put up with you specific brand of weird and make you feel normal about it, they are a true gem.

My favorite Louanne episode is the one where she joins the cult lol. If you haven't seen it yet I think you're gonna love it lol. I kind of agree with Hank on most of this episode tho. But if go about it completely different. Id let her stay until the place is clean and I would go there with her and help her remodel forcing her to face her trauma and getting her out of the house on her own.

I appreciate that Hank sucks with emotion, but what is his major malfunction here. Hank and Peggy have been married since before Luanne was born. He was always been her uncle. Hell, Peggy's family only lived one county over. This man would've seen his niece grow up, but he treats her like a stranger. WTAF, Hank?!

He could also towed dam thing to his property if he has RV gate I am sure the neighbors would love helping him build one and put a cement block down in back yard for it. I mean that is what my uncle did for my dad, he just set up his own place in back yard of property he keeps my grandma. Like he is doing best of all my family on that side got land put a trailer on it for her a nice one, and set up little place for my dad in back yard when he got out of prison.

Why would Luanne owe rent in the trailer? Aren't her parents the ones with their names on the leases?
@digitaladventurer2142 Жыл бұрын
Well considering her parents are in jail and ran offshore (spoilers) which would be public knowledge or state knowledge anyway so she would be next on the list
@MsAngelique Жыл бұрын
@@digitaladventurer2142 Is that really a thing that could be legally enforced? Both parents are still alive, and the debt belongs to them. Landlords can't legally go after a relative of the tenants just because the tenants ran off. And I'm pretty sure Luanne was underage when she lived in that trailer.

To add to your last sappy comment, something I remember about my great grandmother. She said there was only so much money you needed. The rest is just showing off. She was an interesting lady, had luxury before finding god and enlightenment and then finding her excess luxury as meaningless and giving unnecessary items away, thus being labeled as crazy. I knew her afterwards. For reference I am atheists but respect her strong conviction and well I could be wrong. But she was right. Financial security is necessary to feel secure enough to pursue other life passions. Beyond that..., there is no reason for miserly accumulation. I am an atheist and my great grandmother was a devout theist, but I found value in her path that was different from mine.
