@cerebrummaximus37622 ай бұрын
I just read about it, and it gets even more sad. On the peaceful march lead by the priest, the people carried Orthodox Christian Iconography, paintings of the tsar, and sung hymns such as "God save the Tsar". The people and the priest genuinely had positive opinions of the tsar and only wished to be heard out to have the lives improved. It was all met with violence, not even by the tsar. I think the priest survived this, but was murdered by someone else later on.

Some facts about the January 9th (or 22nd) of 1905, or as it called, "the Bloody Sunday" 1 - Nicolai has been told that the people are acting like they are a threat, he did not knew that this was a peaceful protest 2 - some people in the crowd were dressed like it was a big celebration 3 - the guard did only a couple of shots and they meant to just scare people off, so they fired over people's heads, into the trees, but they did not knew, that some kids climbed on that trees to see what's going on, so they were the first victims 4 - the russian cavalry did most of the injuries and killings after the shots stopped, they just rolled the streets and were more violent than they meant to be 5 - Nicolai actually wanted to do something with this, but he was scared that the aristocrats will revolt on him. Many russian Tsars had this phobia for almost a 100 years, since the 1800s, when one of the most controversial tsar of russian empire, Pavel the first, was forced by his own guardsmen, who were aristocrats, to renounce his power. He was always saying "no, no, i will not sign anything". And some of the guardsmen picked up a golden snuffbox, which was on the table in the room of the Winter Palace where the conflict happened, and hit Pavel with it several times until he died, then his son, Alexander the 1st took the throne, he wanted to make peasants free and be a big reformer, but he was scared of his own people, the aristorcrats, because most of them were against the new reforms, because they will loose the cheap workers, which they could sell, loose or win throw gambling, give as a gift, and treat like things.

People: Hello we will soon enough
@kayleekirkpatrick91933 жыл бұрын
@@shadiafifi54 To be fair from my knowledge Nicholas was never supposed to be Tsar. His older brother was supposed to be but I’m pretty sure he died. So he was never properly educated to be in charge of a whole country. And the revolt was slightly caused by the fact a World war was happening and they were fighting against the germans and Alexandra(his wife) was german and basically being manipulated by Rasputin into thinking she needed him in order for her hemophiliac sons survival. And no one other then family, servants and close friends knew about Alexei’s(his only heir) sickness. Next time, don’t talk about something you learned from Oversimplified. They dive into the peoples problems but hardly into what the family was dealing with. If you learned about this topic from something other then this video, i would suggest if your willing to learn about the families issues, to read the “Royal Diaries” book about Anastasia, you get a book in the perspective about what a younger person thought about the situation and insight on how the family may have struggled. They were a very well functioning family but were born into the wrong class.

Let's take a moment and appreciate some small details Oversimplified put into his video because I dont see anyone talk about them. None of them had to be put in but they're quite funny imo 0:36 The conducter has a 420 cap 4:23 All of the people in the pictures except for one are doing the Gopnik Squat. 4:48 One of the sample tattoos in the background is a flying pig. This is a reference to a joke Oversimplified made in his Henry VIII Video about his generous spendings in his early years on the throne 5:28 The lower person of the two depicted ones on the left pillar is Spaghetti Jeff who was introduced in the "War of the Bucket" Video. In Bologna he apparently was merely a candidate for the post of mayor but in Russia they seem to have found some liking in his teachings 5:44 This is my favourite one so far. On the left side of the crowd, there is a Wally (from Where's Wally). 6:16 There's some dude lying on the rooftop of this shag 7:04 Someone threw an hamburger away 7:11 Two protesters are holding a "This sign is heavy sign" 7:22 There's some Uranium lying behind the left worker 8:13 The two depicted people are Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic from Tiger King who didn't like each other that much, just to put it lightly. For more context watch the show on Netflix. Apart from them there's the Spaghetti-Jeff-Sun and a Unicorn in the background. 10:07 The guy from the show is Big Ed from 90 day fiance and he puts Mayonnaise in his hair... wtf. It's also the same place Henry VIII married his first wife in Oversimplified's Henry VIII video. 11:41 The rat joined the strike lol 13:14 One of the T-Shirts hanging on the clothesline says "uncool" which is a reminder to buy our boy's merchandise! The shirt is visible whenever this background appears 13:16 Nicolas is drinking his milk from a baby bottle and not from a glass. He's probably doing that in the earlier "snuggle-scene" or however you wanna call it as well 17:48 The Economic Downturn is a joke from the Emu War video whereas the Porsche is a joke from the French Revolution Video. 18:15 Stalin's "There is a tax for that" is a reference to the French Revolution and the American Revolution Video. 18:18 The Prison Break is a reference to Read Dead Redemption 2's prison break cut scenes. Also the picture on the wall is probably Marilyn Monroe and 24601 is Jean Valjean's (from "Les Miserables") prison number 19:04 These peasants are eating rats and they're loving it 20:00 The monetisation signs are covering a human pyramid, a set of cards and Rasputin with a rabbit in an hat 20:13 The magazine questions whether our boy or apparently girl Spaghetti Jeff is pregnant

Nicholas didn't want to be Tsar, and definitely wasn't ready for it. All things considered, the man had a good heart. He unfortunately though, inherited a nation that was well behind the times, and the hatred of generations that was aimed at his crown and by extension, him. Even had he taken serious, even miraculous, steps to modernize; I doubt it would have saved him. As was stated "if the people aren't suffering, they won't support a revolution." Revolutionaries always think this way, they _want_ the revolution. Even had Nicholas been ready for his role and made great steps to improve things, Lenin and his revolutionaries would have still tried to agitate and accelerate until the revolution happened anyway

Lenin: I wanna start a revolution without being blamed Also Lenin: just do nothing, and in a gazillion years people will figure it out and do it by themselves after the same gazillion-years age of loans, mortgages, scam health insurances, run-your-life-to-the-ground education credits and giantly overpriced pharmaceuticals.

@@ivanadaev1000 Fun-Fact: Entertaining with Knowledge and/or Science becomes more popular. And while we should all be thankful for Oversimplified to have strongly helped this to become popular, it would sure be a Tragedy to just stick to this 1 channel here. I mean, if it just has to be 'Stick Figures teaching stuff with humor attached' i honestly only know Bluejay and CGP Grey, but if we broaden the Defintion just a bit, we have COUNTLESS epic KZbinrs. Joe Scott, Hbomberguy and Wisecrack have literally perfected this and i promise you will enjoy each video.
