When I was 16 (I’m 20 now), Hank was the reason I decided to start playing guitar and singing. I even bought a guitar just like the one in this video, just because he played one. It’s crazy to think that a man who passed away in 1953 still continues to inspire millions of people.

Put your heart and soul into your music. The world is full of critics, and full of lovers. Get insight from the critics and inspiration from the lovers. Be a bulldozer tearing up what the naysayers want to toss at you. Never, ever give up. It's your future, not theirs. Always be kind to others (I know its hard). A bad attitude can put a stop to a career. Be quick to apologize and fast to put praise on others. Study Hank and Elvis's lives. They were true entertainers. The Colonel pushed Elvis to be what he was. Looks like Hank was a forerunner setting up the way for Elvis. Flashy suits when the time is right and always leaving the audience hungry for more. We have one life so make it one we all will remember with a smile on our faces.

This and 100s of other country songs are the ones my mom and dad played in various bands when I was growing up. This song had cutting edge lyrics for that time. Was always a great kitchen party favorite . So then I grew up and went and sang and played in a bunch of different rock bands .Now I've come full circle and have realized over the years that you cant beat an honest well written song . They stand the test of time . Hank was one of the best .. My dad would have loved this video and would have smiled the whole time. Thank you so much for posting this. It made my day.

I play for residents in a nursing home. Can you shoot me 10 easy sing-along songs that maybe they would sing with me on? This is one of the greatest country sing-along songs but I'm having trouble finding some that are comparable to this.

@jodywilke46425 жыл бұрын
Nathan Peruelo Ken Burns' show sucked, big time. It talked a little bit about country music, and WAY too much about stuff that had absolutely nothing to do with country music, like Bob Dylan, the Vietnam War, etc., etc. His previous programs were so good, like the ones about the Civil War and WW2--but this one didn't measure up.😒💒

ALAN KILLEN That's your opinion. Bob Dylan is a good songwriter, but he can't sing his way out of a paper bag, and who cares if he was associated with Johnny Cash? There were too many people--actual country music singers--they didn't mention, and too much about nothing to do with country music.😒💒

Back when people went on good old fashioned and innocent dates that didn’t have to (or wasnt expected to) end in sex, or even a kiss, and you could write catchy, cute and innocent songs like this about it. Now its sex everything, and i don’t think I’ve heard a song about love or doing a date even similar to this for an EXTREMELY long time
