I just started playing it out of nowhere and my mom says “Grandpa used to sing this all the time you know that right?” and I told her I didn’t know that. My grandpa passed in 2012 and finding your comment was pretty cool. My grandparents would’ve been married 45 years that June and 53 years this year. I wish you and your parents the best.

So sorry man. Tore me up because my mom died unexpectedly in a car accident and she took care of my grandma in the nursing home, my grandma had dementia and she kept asking where my mom was and if she was mad at her. Tore me up so much. Then my cousin died a few months after my grandma in a car accident. Has been very depressing.

When I was 16 (I’m 20 now), Hank was the reason I decided to start playing guitar and singing. I even bought a guitar just like the one in this video, just because he played one. It’s crazy to think that a man who passed away in 1953 still continues to inspire millions of people.

Put your heart and soul into your music. The world is full of critics, and full of lovers. Get insight from the critics and inspiration from the lovers. Be a bulldozer tearing up what the naysayers want to toss at you. Never, ever give up. It's your future, not theirs. Always be kind to others (I know its hard). A bad attitude can put a stop to a career. Be quick to apologize and fast to put praise on others. Study Hank and Elvis's lives. They were true entertainers. The Colonel pushed Elvis to be what he was. Looks like Hank was a forerunner setting up the way for Elvis. Flashy suits when the time is right and always leaving the audience hungry for more. We have one life so make it one we all will remember with a smile on our faces.

The first time I heard Hank I was so amazed and impressed by him. The voice is just a pure well of emotion and misery. This and 100s of other country songs are the ones my mom and dad played in various bands when I was growing up. This song had cutting edge lyrics for that time. Was always a great kitchen party favorite . So then I grew up and went and sang and played in a bunch of different rock bands .Now I've come full circle and have realized over the years that you cant beat an honest well written song . They stand the test of time . Hank was one of the best .. My dad would have loved this video and would have smiled the whole time. Thank you so much for posting this. It made my day.
