I nearly plotzed when you said WVU. I saw Hank Jr. at the Coliseum in 1986. After the show, a GF and I were thumbing back to Sunnyside when his backing band's limo pulled up and invited us into the car. We got in, but my friend got scared and we got out. I've often wondered how much fun I'd have had, had I gone back to the hotel, but I suspect I might have contracted some sort of "never get over".

Hank Jr.'s daddy was Hank Williams who was a big part of the birth of country music (he passed at age 29). The people at the time sang folk, mountain and early blues\gospel music. Country was born from these early styles and Rock 'n Roll from blues\gospel and that 'Hillbilly' music. That is why they crossover with each other so much. Hank Jr. is a blend of music styles.

Hank Williams Jr. and his father certainly had different styles but they both a represent county in their own unique way. He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones. There are some people who insist it's the greatest country song ever written. I would put it in the top ten, for certain. And Ships That Don't Come In by Joe Diffie. Great Reaction to a legend. Regarding your bourbon review. You read that this is finished in the "Prisoner French oak red wine barrels". Prisoner Wine Co is one of the most amazing wine makers, located in St. Helena, Ca in the northern part of the Napa Valley, I go there often. For me, Wine is my beverage of choice, but your guys understanding of the nuisances of Bourbons is very cool to watch. Prisoner Wine Co has amazing wines with a huge attitude. They choose to label their wines by different names, the Zinfandel is called "Saldo" and their Merlot, one of the best in the valley, is labeled "Thorn". The wine is great so I'm sure it tends to enhance the finish of this bourbon. Enjoy your work very much !!

As someone who has lived my entire life like you said an Urban or Suburban environment, I like to think I might be a little bit of an exception. My Dad grew up in rural SE Colorado in a farming and ranching area. My Grandma still lives there so I spent some time down there. I HATE the city. I do everything I can to avoid going down town Denver. I LOVE the mountains. My goal is to someday get a place up in the mountains away from the city and the metro area surrounding it. I've sent significant time fishing and hunting while camping out in the woods. I know if things completely feel apart in this country and I had to get outta dodge and live off the land there would be areas I am unprepared for, but I think I've learned enough and experienced enough that I could figure things out. Maybe I'm just a city slicker who likes to think he could live off the land, but how many city slickers have gone to, and actually helped with a branding? How many have gone out in the woods and made a primitive shelter and slept out under the stars? How many have trudged through 3 feet of snow in below 0° temperatures tracking a heard of Elk, trying to get a shot at that trophy Buck? I may just be full of myself, but I'd like to think I'm bi-cultural. I've learned how to live and survive in the City, and I think I've learned how to live in the country and survive off the land.
