This movie was pretty much the main horror movie parody that knows its a parody. Like the actual Scream movie just makes fun of horror movie tropes, Scary Movie is aware of those tropes but takes advantage of them for their own comedic purposes. With that said, this has became iconic. I still couldn’t stop quoting *WAZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP?!*

So the guy who plays the Principal is the guy who played Squeegy in the 70's sitcom 'Laverne & Shirley', which was a spinoff of Happy Days. The joke there was that in the original Scream, the Principal was played by Henry Winkler, who played The Fonz on Happy Days. Millennials won't get that joke but us old farts got it.

The best parody movies are those that can still stand on their own as a fun movie even if an audience member doesn’t know the references. Scary Movie 2 is just as fun as this one. Quality drops with each sequel that follows but 3&4 are still decently enjoyable.
