I agree. I was born not long after Hank, Sr. died. Am also a "Junior". And the son of a Singer. I can related to both of these Great icons & Legends. Love Them. Have follow career & done research on Both.

Hank Sr. did NOT die in the back of a limousine. He died in the backseat of his Cadillac.

@concertjunkie8592 Caught it that time ( Jesus Just Left Chicago). For me , one of the Jr's greatest talents is his penchant to mix up/mash up a song and put his own spin on it . " Working For MCA " ,off of the Hank Live album for example.

@@cliffhaskett7703 I agree. Some don’t appreciate that about him. I have always loved it myself. He used to be very spontaneous and unpredictable in his shows. Made him unique in that respect.

His statement that he was never going to change his name is a bit misleading, as he actually did change to Hank Williams, 'JR.", which was NOT his birth name. He chose to keep riding on his dad's good name like he always had, and rightfully so, he just finally decided to do it his way, and not his momma's. I love a lot of Hank Jr's music from his peak period of 1977 through Born to Boogie, but sometimes get tired of his my daddy this, my daddy that stuff.

@@rodjohnson3045 he never changed his name. HWJR is what he is known as professionally, but his birth name never changed.

@@rodjohnson3045 if you had a father as famous as Hank Williams, you would likely ride that wave as long as you could too. “Stop and think it over, put yourself in my unique position” as Hank has stated. Yes referencing his father in song and interview helped keep his father’s name alive, while at the same time it was a great marketing strategy. Given the opportunity, I don’t think anybody would’ve done it differently.
