Thank you! I was wondering what she reminded me of. Honestly, few people can pull off that kinda style and she does it really well. Honestly when I first found her on YT, I really enjoyed it because it's rare to see a really good female comedian such as herself. I genuinely think we need some more talented female comedians out there like her. Not copy cats that make careers out of stealing other comedians jokes.

It's the neurodiversityn methinks
@bthorner33
@bthorner33 4 жыл бұрын
@sluttyMapleSyrup well, Mulaney has the ADHD that he features very prominently, and that is neurodiverse, and the way it frames the perspective is different than neurotypical. Noticing things others would ignore and see "unimportant" detail as equal priority as "important" and telling it as so is very much an ND trait. But that's just my experience being ND
@bradeast8021
@bradeast8021 4 жыл бұрын
@@bthorner33 I think in this instance you're right it feels a bit more directly related to neurodivergence... like her attempts to reiterate and structure of reiterating why it is relevant yet not relevant information for her in her social engagement and almost sets the scene with stimuli as required... "added stress" haven't thought about Mulaney's relationship to ADHD though, makes all the sense in the world... but as someone with ADHD (and without ASD) you're still in my opinion kinda closer to the point... for ADHD it would feature as the whole point for the conversation, and if it hadn't started that way would have headed in that direction before the pun discussion anyway

@@perpetuallyconfused6608 Whippets (and greyhounds and all the sighthounds really) generally have pretty vulnerable feet and legs. Very little hair typically, no fat and not that much muscle, it's mostly tendons and bone covered by a thin skin and thin hair. (You can actually see through their legs at a few points if you hold a light behind it) They often need some kind of protection. Our whippet almost always has some kind of wound on his legs if he's been running around a forest or dog park etc. So some owners get them some extra protection for that reason.

They may think they're doing it to make her feel better (because they're also taught that women are supposed to want to be beautiful all the time, and that makes them happiest), or at least tell themselves that, and yet it won't. Jplp5643 First, comedy is subjective. If people didn’t like her style and message, she wouldn’t be selling out theaters and scoring specials. Second, this is a 7 minute clip of an hour-long show. There is a fair amount of context and meta humor that is left out. I’m a huge fan of Burr, Mulaney, Pryor, Carlin, C.K, Chappelle, Tomlinson, Sloan etc... and I will happily add Gatsby to my list of favorites. I’d recommend at least giving ‘Douglas’ a shot before passing judgement. The art history jokes in particular are hysterical. Cheers.
