Actually, Hannah was a part of the ensemble in this cast and was an official understudy for Heather C and Heather M and unofficially covered Heather D. This made her the first person to play all 3 heathers

am i the only one who thinks this is a prime example of bad casting? casted an influencer, dare i say, who doesn’t really fit the character that well or sing her songs the best (notice her being pitchy, and noticeably out of breath). it’s a shame this role didn’t go to a understudy/standby who was more talented, because i know that there’s better choices out there.

hannah lowther wasn’t casted as heather duke, she was the new wave girl member of ensemble and swing, she had barely any time to rehearse for heather duke, so she probably wasn’t prepared and was probably nervous to do such a solo with barely any practice time, she was the only option, she did the best she could and under the time she had to prepare i think she did good ( i’m not being rude i’m js saying she had no time to prepare that’s why she sounds like that probably)

@@CM_GamerYT I agree you can see she was trying to pull through this very full on number and when you are trying to remember a track that you don't cover and then also sing a song that you don't normally sing, that's going to affect the performance. But having said that I think she did amazingly in this and to go on last minute; geez I would be stresssingggg!! :D

Yeah as others said she only actually performed as Duke once, maybe twice. It was a last minute thing where Duke and the Duke understudied all fell ill. They asked Hannah to step in as she was already the understudy for the other two heathers so she would have known Duke’s role the best.

Hannah was never meant to play Duke though. She was part of the ensemble and used as an emergency cover.
