Can I ask you a question about printify. I’m designing in Illustrator. Should I design in rgb or cmyk? I know it’ll print cmyk regardless but should I upload it as a rgb or cmyk onto printify? Does it matter? I mean either way it’ll come out as cmyk. So what’s better? Does it even matter because it’ll print cmyk regardless if I design in rgb or cmyk?

I’m really confused about mockups. I keep hearing different takes and reading Etsy’s documentation hasn’t really helped. I have a placeit subscription but lately I’m using them mostly for digital products. I thought the main image on a physical product has to be a photo you took yourself, a review photo with permission, or an image from your POD partner. Am I missing something?

The first photo only has to show the exact product, not your own photo necessarily. The mockup can’t show a Gildan xxxx if what you’re selling is a Bella Canvas xxxx. If you’re adding personalization, you can’t mockup with “your text here” or something similar. If it’s a name that’s supposed to be added, you have to have a real name. Subsequent images in the listing don’t have to follow these rules or rather they still need to show the exact brand/style you’re selling.

Have you had any experience with T-shirt, mug, etc. printing companies and the quality of more complex designs (photoreal, intricate patterns and lines like etching, dark designs, etc., etc.)?
