The bar turned out really nice, good call on the black posts and stained wood. Once you get the wood slats up on the ceiling it's really going to tie everything together!! The window looks sooo good in the kitchen, everything is turning out so nice. That back porch is going to be an amazing entertainment spot!

I think the "bar" looks great! And don't be discouraged about the change of plans with staining the wood - various wood species accepts stain differently, and the color will "age" and change over time, so it can be very hard to match to previous colors. I think the clear coat was a great choice! Especially until you see how the roof paneling comes together. Great work!

Hi Hannah! That turned out to be some project getting that bar done and it looks great. The black trim on the posts and bar will look so cool against the new color of the house. Love the window instead of the sliding glass doors. Actually the solar lights I love them that tight rather then loose I had no idea that they even had party lights that were solorized I will have to check those out. Your home is really looking beautiful.

I wonder if the previous owners had got an exceptionally good deal on sliding doors if they bought a bunch of them. Your choice of window is much better. Hannah, you and your hubby are doing a great job on the house. As I have watched your videos, I am drawn back to my earliest memories living in southern Arizona. Imagine my surprise when I saw your contact address was Elfrida, the area where I had my first memories! We still have home movies of our time there before moving back to Texas in 1969. My parents’ official address was Sunizona. My Brother graduated HS from Elfrida in 1968. He still has his FHA jacket! My parents were founding members of Sunizona First Baptist Church. Watching your videos makes me nostalgic.

Hi Hanna. Your kitchen window looks great. My kitchen layout is very similar to yours, however, we had a window and switched it out to French doors and made a small patio area just outside. It is my favorite spot (weather permitting)for morning coffee. Love your kitchen cabinets, they look great, you did a fine job! :0

It looks so pretty 🥺 I have a recommendation for the bar. If you don’t like the red stained wood paint over it with black but keep the rest of the wood. It would look more modern and clean. But your house is looking so pretty I can’t wait for when I’m older to buy a house and renovate it!

Hannah, if you decide to do the wood once more you could try a steel wool and vinegar combo to stain. It basically ages the wood and cancels out the red tones but just be careful because the more coats the darker it becomes. Id test it out on a small patch though before committing. Honestly its really nice looking as is.

i think black is a good choice for the bar all wood takes stain so differently. and it could be very overwhelming. this way the black will visually cut the amount of wood so it will be balanced. the black you are using is so soft, it looks sooo good on the post. i'm going to try the juice, i know i don't get enough fiber. thanks for the info on it.

Love the window and the bar is great too! If the wood doesn't look right when you get the ceiling done, I would probably paint the whole bar black. Especially if you have the concrete countertop! I think it looks great!

If you’re planning on replacing counters in the kitchen, maybe the old ones would work on the bar area outside ? Of course it would need to be cut and matched to size... but I just thought the old ones wouldn’t go to waste as they’re still in great condition.

I think it would look neat if you glued pennies to the bar top and then fill the top with resin. Or you could put pictures or postcards or whatever on the top and resin that in. It looks great. Good job!
