Coming back again to watch this in 2013. Good drummers always on necrophagist, but Hannes was probably the best drummer that they had.

maybe really the best blastbeats i've ever seen 'cause he really put the right power, and so much drummers who play this music have not this power but only speed and their blastbeats seam ghostnotes!.. there's kevin talley too who put a lot of power, more than grossmann too but i prefer hans..talley is too much heavy.. grossmann isn't only a death metallers, he's more!

Hannes is probably the best tech death drummer ever. Theres not another person on youtube that accurately plays this song, not even from other drummers necrophagist had later on. They all simplify parts and miss things. Genuinely mindblowing how hard he hits at 250 bpm while being so precise. Like, how the fuck do you even play 3:23 on... Also he REALLY reminds me of sean reinert. From the way he sets up his kit, to the way he plays fast rolls, and the really unique arm movements and cymbal hits :D

who necrophagist drummer is better marco minnemann or romain goulon??

They all have different strengths. Romain Goulon has the highest speed limit, Marco Minnemann may have the most extreme independence/coordination, Hannes Grossmann perhaps the most powerful dynamically. In other words, Minnemann may be able to play more extremely complex progressive music, but may not fit the band as well as the other two, who play as accurately & faithfully as possible. I think they all sound amazing with the band personally, it's hard for me to say who fits the band the best. They are all professional, world-class musicians & educators.

thing is, hannes is really fast and powerful drummer, especially with the blast beat, wich is by far my least favourite beat. he's not as technical as other great drummers, it took me a while to 'get' Necrophagist, as i am old and my all time fav's are Cynic and Death...he´s just very good(hannes).
