I think this is the moment when any lingering romantic feelings and also emotional attachment Will was feeling for her, dissolved. He came to her when he was most vulnerable, looking for a sense of stability, and in this moment she betrayed him. The look on his face when he realized what she'd done is pure hurt. I think their relationship after this never fully recovers - even though they supposedly patch things up - because he realizes he cannot truly rely on her. This also pushes him to rely on Hannibal more, which we all know how that ends up. It's a shame they (had to) cut this scene because I think it's really important in the developing of the relationship between Alana and Will. I think him losing all emotional & romantic attraction to her here "freed up space" to eventually start feeling some for Hannibal as well.

So true! And I think it worked both ways alana saw something about how will carried himself is this scene that she couldn't unsee and that sets up how she treats him for a while in late s2.

I got a chill up my spine when Will smiled and said "that was pretty slick too" oh gosh it reminds me of Gideon. Ah his acting is so good! Gosh, it's upsetting that he's asking her to trust and believe him and she just doesn't. To be fair, maybe good instincts that she recognizes a possible shark but geez, it really shows how she's been cautious of him.

I like seeing how all the killers he has gotten into the minds of begin to “come out” of him. He has an obvious tie to Garret Jacob Hobbs, but then we also see some similarities to Gideon. I think he was also trying to channel a Hannibal personality as well during season 2.

I like seeing her drinking the beer, it actually ties in quite well in season 3 when she says that she stopped drinking beer because Hannibal was putting people into it somehow.

He fully believed that after Jack let him down, he hoped she would know him the best and know he was innocent, that couldn’t be capable of hurting others like that (at least not atp of the show) but all she did was show he couldn’t trust her or her judgement. I love him so much because all I see in this scene is him wanting a hug and a sense of reassurance that the rest of the world isn’t giving him. She could’ve given him a hug and he would’ve legitimately melted in her arms in that moment.

Ever since tye beginning of this season1 dr alana really seemed like... she's so fake as a psychologist. Not that she's not one but she's so pretentious with will telling him that she cares about him. But how she easily switched attention to dr lecter means she's just attracted to will coz she thinks he can help him and hes vulnerable.

I always liked her character, and i can't blame her for taking measures to ensure Hannibal was caught or killed considering she now had a wife and kid to think about. However I wasn't overly fond of when she nearly caused Will to lose his face.

@@xoolam-w4f Maybe their characterization wasn't altered, maybe it's just us as the audience having a reaction of her. Many of the things people associate her with in terms of "unlikeable" are often not discussed in male characters. If she had been Alan Bloom, maybe people wouldn't be so averse to her. If she has the writing of a male character for the writing as a female character. She was liked more in season 1 and 2 for her kindness, sympathy, good morals. In season 3 she's disliked for her good morals, distrust and hatred for Hannibal and cold nature. It could be an entire discussion of the character stereotypes of main female leads. Then again it might just be because she was kinda a bitch in the last season, but then again, weren't they all?

But she was nice to will when she wasn't causing him to lose his fucking face and teaming up with Mason to get Hannibal. But when she killed him i was very happy
