To me, Will was not conflicted at all here. Once he found out Hannibal loved him, he planned his escape and had all the intention to follow through with it - he lies to Jack, Alana, the Dragon... he’s manipulating all of them to set Hannibal free. Hannibal calls him out on it by calling his plan his “weak”, he knows what’s up. And he came to warn Bedelia - which shows us that he really didn’t intend Hannibal to be caught again and that she’s next on his list. Will is petty and jealous towards her, and voila the 1st victim they hunt together after Will’s becoming? Bedelia. So to me, he was well decided to choose Hannibal here, hence the warning to her and the follow through later.

also the way he said 'ready or not, here he comes' was said with such satisfaction and feeling and... pride? possesiveness? a little lust even? it was so powerful. Like Will was saying 'yes he is the devil and he is to big to not be free, and the world shall tremble.' Like... can you imagine walking the earth with someone, something so powerful? Hugh just packed it all in there. All of it.

_you don't intend on being "right", do you? He intended to Kill Hannibal, that was his true obvious intention and "his becoming".. to hunt Hannibal down.. knowing how suicidal that is, he turned his empathy to cruelty.._ NATO realized he cannot defeat Hannibal by staying 'secular amorphous' organization.. without a real faith, they could never hope to oppose Hannibal's Aryan Reign.. And Zionism failed, because it was exposed as a Nihilistic scam for mindless fools By having nothing to oppose Hannibal's Aryan Might.. NATO (Will) realizes they need to create their own Ideology to win.. one that is stronger than any religion.. one not infected by Mozaism

it's funny how they're jealous of each other. now I think about it, it's basically a competition over who can win over Hannibal. he knows how to get under her skin and she knows how to get under his skin, it's brilliant.

I still don't really know what will's intention was with hannibal. He didn't want him to be caught a second time. But he tells bedelia to be ready because hannibal will come for her. So I think that means that it was always the plan to set hannibal free. But in the end he takes him over the cliff and into the water. For a swim i guess lol
@faszkivan14 жыл бұрын
I think he pulled Hannibal over the cliff with himself because his moral compass still couldn't decide whether or not it would be right to be with him. He probably thought that if they survived the fall, God wants them to be together but if they die, that's it. But maybe he didn't want to survive at all. "Can't live with him, can't live without him." He knows that Hannibal is destructive (=in this understanding, evil) and he can't let the world suffer, so he has to kill him. Despite this, he still loves him, and doesn't want a life without him in it.
@Rachel-og8jy4 жыл бұрын
He arranged for Francis to break Hannibal out for real, remember? I think his intention from the start was that either they both die or both live and run away together.
@joaquinromeroday71944 жыл бұрын
Perhaps his plan remained akin to what he tried to do in italy killing hannibal but perhaps he thought or felt that by doind so he would be becoming him thats why he tells bedelia to run because HE is going to be coming for her

At this point I don't think Will totally knows either. You can tell he's still thinking as they are riding in the transport van, then he's in deep thought again when he's looking out at the moon later. It remind me of the conversation he had with Jack about Hannibal and Will says that he wasn't decided when he picked up the phone, was still thinking when the phone rang, and didn't make up his mind until he heard Hannibal's voice. I think, in this case, he didn't totally make up his mind until Hannibal was actually free and the great dragon threat was gone.

Crazy thing about this entire scene other than Will’s insane ignorance to Hannibal’s love for him, but the fact Will came to Bedelia (paying $400 btw) well after the case was after and he could’ve gone home to his wife and child. Yet he came here. Again and again. Exactly here. What does that say about Will…?

Sometimes the pretentiousness just turns into junk. "Extreme acts of cruelty require a high degree of empathy." Good Lord.
@snail17496 ай бұрын
not really. to be cruel you have to have an understanding of why an act is such. in this way extreme cruelty is directly proportional to deep understanding.

Extreme acts of cruelty require a high degree of empathie. ... No. But it is a nice theory.
@squidink3470 Жыл бұрын
Yeah that is a fully nonsensical line to me. Extreme empathy makes it difficult to be cruel at all, whereas a complete lack of it makes cruelty easy. I guess what they were going for is that, in having empathy, you have a better understanding of what hurts a person but that doesn't mean it's easier to be cruel lmao
@thomasschneider2874 Жыл бұрын
@@squidink3470 You're almost right :D. Just a thought. If someone harms the environment, such as the family, of a highly empathetic, emotional person, that person may react more violently and cruelly than a cool person might. But also just a theory. In general, however, a high level of empathy and a willingness to use violence are not mutually exclusive. It's more a question of getting used to it and experience. However, this also leads to the fact that empathy, better compassion, decreases a bit. ... God thanks for the Google Translator.
@anjelica948 Жыл бұрын
In a way, the idea has merit, and the reason why is because you really have to be able to understand, empathize with a person, to know how to cause them the most lasting pain, damage, and scars possible. Anybody can cause physical pain. It takes a special kind of empathetic nightmare to truly destroy someone, and I would know, bc I had it happen to me.
