I always loved the german high tier main line bbs. Good armor, hydro, big guns with silly fast reload and secondaries will still put in work even if you dont build for them

I've only played the hannover right after it was released where you could try out the ship for free and the only thing I can remember is how completely busted it was. On the other hand, when I see an enemy hannover, I just consider them as a free dmg since players are in a competetion of how bad can they be with that ship.

The playerbase is overall so garbage that can even run over the enemy with a Tiger 59. It doesnt matter the ship -> when u got hands u will perform always good. Sad but true

When I used to play the game, I did the same thing with the Georgia (focusing main guns instead of secondaries). Everyone thought (still thinks?) you HAVE to build secondaries on that ship, but its just not true.

Main guns 10 degrees better to the front. Bigger guns are a huge plus. Preussen secondary angles are better, but lower dpm

Hannover was always cracked but held bad by bad players so it has bad fame. I also enjoyed Preussen gun reload in shuffle mode and getting arms race means getting 11 secs reload on those 457, it was amazing. I miss shuffle mode...

Ship armor stops working if a big enough caliber hits it, making it basically irrelevant. Hannover/Yamato guns are so big they can hurt anyone at any angle.

Yeh basically big guns at close range can punch through heavy armor turning shatters into pens and sometimes cits.

Guns in wows have an armour thickness they can pen no matter the angle, and it increases with Gun size If your guns are big enough you can go straight through common thicknesses on bows, so you can go straight through into their citadel

Usually the AP ammunition bouncing off armour at sharp angle. But if the caliber is greater than armour×14.3 at the point of shooting ( For example let say Yamato has 460mm Guns And bow of standard T10 battleships has 32mm of armour plating. 32×14.3=457.6 which 460 of yamato is greater than 457.6 ) then bouncing can never happened even at sharp angle. This is called overmatch

I tried to like Hannover but man it is painful. Eat giant ap chunks from any bb and I got out secondaried by a schliefen even with the f button and full build lutiens. Oh it's a brawl yeah then it's good but in 12v12 everyone shoots you

Indeed. Forget about german BBs in randoms. Since WG decided to buff italian BBs, german BBs are the worst there. But in Ranked and Brawls its a complete diferent story. You just walk over people laughing.

In Randoms, German BBs are still really good. But the trick is to use land cover to get close to the enemy without taking too much damage, then pop out and ruin them in brawling range. German BBs always get focused because for years now, the playerbase has known that a German BB becomes far more dangerous the closer it gets.

I still think it's a bad ship, especially in the current META. A dmg pinata in randoms that doesn't hit shit when it isn't in 2ndary range, which it rarely lives long enough to use.

That's why it's probably only a very strong ship in Ranked, fewer enemies and almost never a sub or CV too. In Random there are too often 4 DDs, 2 subs a CV, hybrid crappers with planes too per team. I used to play Random only for 8 years but the mode isn't fun anymore, too much unbalanced shit. Ranked is better but it's getting boring playing the same tier though :(
