St Vincent First Game - Did They Fire The Balancing Department?

My very first game in the St Vincent, slowly figuring out the ship as we play. What an absolute broken monster. Did WG just fire their entire balancing department, who thought we needed a super Thunderer at T10 ?

Vincent is easy to citadel, but you missed the best part.....you can citadel cruisers with HE. Also in the captains build, dont take fire protection and take furious, brings the gun reload down to ridiculously fast. The super heal is because the ship only has 79k health at T10.

This video is literally just 'fire chance too good!!!', 'firing angles too good!!!', 'super heal', 'super fast' - said over and over again like a dozen times. I literally had to mute you half way through to see the game play and I unmuted you at the end and YOU WERE STILL SAYING THE SAME FUCKING THINGS without zero insight beyond bitching about the ship. It is very easy to kill so any potato gets dev strike with it. Every BB except meckleburg can overmatch it, every HE will pen its nose, and if you have 32mm overmatch there is nowhere you can it that isn't a pen. No need for superstructure when you can farm everywhere on the ship.

i can not stretch enough, that despite ships like St. Vincent or all the CVs being in the game, they nerfed the reload of the Tier 5-7 italian dds a while ago, because THESE were clearly too strong and in need of a nerf. It was not acceptable, that players with hands and a knack for one vs one dd fighting, could have fun in ships, that were widely regarded as trash. My theory is, that the guy, who came up with the whole CV rework concept is in charge of the entire dev dept by now.

Thunderer is a good comparison. St. Vincent has less range, roughly equal throw weight, lower reload and much worse sigma. It has torpedoes and a superheal. The thing that was supposedly so bad on Thunderer is worse on St. Vincent: it has the same chance to start a fire, but it fires one extra shell per salvo. So I'm thinking Thunderer needs a buff. It's only fair.

PRO TIP: When fighting a St. Vincent, the most reliable way to citadel it is to aim for the middle funnels, at the CENTER of the ship. If you're in a Montana or something with floaty arcs, you have a bit more wiggle room, since you have the benefit of plunging fire.

When this ship first came out I always said this thing will be more broken than the Thunderer due to its firechance and battlecruiser dispersion. Guess I was right. It's like the easiest ship if you want to farm damage. High Caliber Witherer and Arsonists are easy farms along with average 200k games. Prop mod and brisk does help this ship too not to mention the funny firing angles. And people think that GKs and Pruessens should push in that. I currently have a 298k game in the St. Vincent where I stopped 5 ships pushing in the flank and I was alone

I'll be honest this was my exact reaction when I first got to play the Vincent. I was like "who's leading the balancing department", because this ship has pretty much everything that a Battleship needs, good armor, great speed, great guns, good anti-air and really good concealment while also having some extra perks like DFAA and Royal Navy Acceleration and Superheal. Oh and it also can break 40 knots with Brisk and Engine Boost Active

Their balancing department actually works when it is about Japanese and German ships. Iwami is a great T9 premium, but for some reason they didn't give it improved secondary accuracy. Ah yes, improved secondary accuracy would have made it broken. But Georgia with speed boost, 40s heal cooldown, 457 guns, great secondaries are fine.

I haven’t had any issues citin’ St. Vincent, which is kinda funny how many people say it’s not able to be citadeled. Believe in one match in my Kremlin I got six citadels on it, and in Yammy I hit 4, but it was a bit less consistent due to the plunging fire vs more straight shots.

What are they thinking you ask? They’re thinking free xp money from people wanting to be OP until they nerf. They made this game to make money. They are getting it. Remember wargaming makes more money than any other game in the world and this is how they do it. They designed a game that was fine initially and once they had a solid player base to feed off of, they started introducing the same concept that made world of tanks successful.

there is a reason why the older ships don't get played much the newer ones are just so much more powerful. It is one thing WG needs to set a plan up for is look over all the older ships to bring them in line with newer but that would be asking for too much. The torps on the vincent alone are insane then you look at the fire chance, heals etc. The new US hybrid BB looks just as bad but still not as bad as the supership idea.

The best part is you didn't even push in and you still had a great game. This ship just destroys everything it fights at close range due to the fast reloading nose in turning torps, super heal, lack of a citadel, super maneuverability, and hard hitting accurate short fuse AP. It's a monster farmer but it's a god-tier brawler. It is literally excellent at all ranges.

According to wows-numbers, St.Vincent is the second best performing battleship at Tier 10 on both NA and EU, barely behind Bourgogne. So the playerbase overall definitely doesnt have any issue performing well on her. And keep in mind that, unlike Bourgogne, it's a tech tree ship! Which means that she's not locked behind any ressource requirement so any player can get her easily, making this stat even more impressive.

It has good concealment, speed and a superheal. Even if it takes damage, it can easily disengage. Not having high armor is not an actual downside because it doesn't need it in the first place.

Early on, people looked at the armour of the St.Vincent which isn't exactly good, I looked at the speed, the HE, basically everything else, the St.Vincent HE is broken, you get pretty low dispersion, not sure about sigma, but it is a hella accurate ship. Flamu has the same reaction to the St.Vincent as I had, the Ship is really dumb. The only downside is the shell velocity.
