Wow, first I had seen videos like two years ago. Just saw your Iran journey and decided to start all the way from the first episode. That was a great decision. You can really see where you come from, how you started, how you pick up interests and how you're growing. Glad I decided to start watching your entire journey from the beginning! Yeah man, you are in for a treat! I thought 1 month would be enough but it took me 2 months, however i did go north for a week or so first. If you put in some solid riding days it is possible to fit it into 3 weeks but will be hard work. Thanks for your feedback Bill. Have fun on your adventure :)

I work with many people from former South Vietnam. I think they would disagree with you about the war. They lost a lot when North Vietnam was able to take over the entire country. Reading an accurate history book never hurts.

1:51 Just a quick note: the Vietnam War with US involvement started in 1965, so it was the 50th anniversary of the beginning of US involvement in 2015. The war with the US ended in 1975. I saw it on TV, the last of the people being airlifted off the roof of the US Embassy in Saigon. The civil war started there in 1955, though, so maybe it was a show from 2015 marking those anniversaries. Sorry to be a smartypants. 😉 But others who don't remember the war firsthand may want the info. Okay, I'm back to watching. Your videos are addictive & I'm having a great time with vicarious travel! 😊

Indigo Traveller Yes, it was particularly horrifying as it was the first "televised" war. I did a minor in Asian Studies at university and the Vietnam War was one of the courses I took. Because it had been on TV from the time I was born until I was seven, plus all of the protests I saw growing up (and the counter-cultural movement aka hippy movement) I was glad to learn more of the history in school. All war is bad, but the Vietnam War was pretty horrible. I'm glad in my lifetime Vietnam has come to relative peace and prosperity. And look how warm the people are! In spite of all that! It blows my mind. Safe travels! ✌🏼

All these Southeast Asian cities seem quite chaotic, but there is system to that chaos. Once you start driving a car or ride a motorcycle on your own, you adapt to that chaos and after a month it's just normal and not crazy anymore
