Having been back from my tour of Vietnam recently, the things I like about the country are: 1. The exquisite French-influenced architecture of the buildings and terraced shop houses with private balconies. 2. Vietnamese black coffee ☕️ sans sugar/milk 3. Pho 🍲 4. Banh Mi sandwich loaf 🥖 5. Vietnamese rice 🍚 It tastes better than Thai Jasmine rice although it’s less fragrant. But I love its texture. 6. Ridiculously cheap local beer🍺! It just costs slightly more than mineral water! Even imported alcoholic drinks are cheap there! 8. The mountainous and lush green scenery in central and north Vietnam like Sapa 7. Excellent service personnel in the hotel and F&B industry. They take pride in rendering their best warm service to tourists and customers alike. 8. I’m impressed with the independence and maturity of the young Vietnamese people. Most of them are very motivated, articulate, adaptable and keen to learn new things to better their futures, especially the learning of a foreign language like English, Chinese, Japanese ... These young working adults generally are very well mannered and humble compared to the older generations who tend to be surly, impatient, gruff, nonchalant and even rude.

Just found your channel and it is very refreshing to see this kind of travel vlog. Great raw videos which gives a cool vibe. I am actually hooked watching your videos- started with your Bangkok videos as I will be travelling to Thailand by January as backpacker. I'm wondering what camera and gimbal do you use to film. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭

Great vid Jason. I don't know what it is ... but the more HD and crystal clear these vlogging videos are becoming on youtube I don't actually have any urge to visit these locations as I feel like I have already been there now ... I think these locations that we haven't been too lose their mystery once somebody captures it so well on video and shows it to the world. May be thats just me.

I don't like high temp and high humid climate, so I lost the motivation of southern trip. However Hanoi is different a litle among south east Asia. The climate from Nov to Mar is so comfortable. Yes! I've decide to trip there next Nov.

When crossing the street, you just have to walk slowly straight forward, motorbike will avoid you and drive around you, trust me I'm vietnamese and I dont even look 2 sides while crossing :) obviously no one want to hurt people, they want to be in peace too

I used to be like that when I lived in China. After the first day in Hanoi I got the feeling back for it again and it was much easier. It takes some adjusting time I think.

Each time see a video filming Vietnam by an expat, I feel a little sad that my hometown wasn't on their list. Come on! Vietnam doesn't stop with those famous cities. If you really want to dig in the real culture of it, there are no better places to go than those areas nearby a known city.

Hi Jason - no disrespect, but your video only skirted the outer edge of the Old Quarter. If you have time it would be worthwhile to you and your subscribers to show the heart and centre of the area - especially Beer Corner at night. Cheers!

I’m not so interested in the more touristy bar street, it’s full of westerners and in my opinion not so authentic. Plus there’s already a lot of other videos showing that side of Hanoi on KZbin. Thanks for the comment :)

I’m Vietnamese myself and a trick to walk across literally ANY road/ street with moving vehicles is to put your hand up in the air and walk in a slow, constant speed. Motobike drivers will immediately avoid you and will dodge you as you walk. This is bcs insurance and health care in VN is very VERY VERY expensive. No one will hurt dare you, so let’s say you’re semi safe when crossing a busy street 👊🏼🥳😂

Jason , in India ,Hindu funerals are not filmed ,only celebrations are filmed ,funerals do not come under celebrations .People have to take a bath after attending a Hindu funeral to cleanse the body .A good person's dead soul is respected as in all religions and prayers are held after the body is cremated .
