@@SuperPokegay It really all comes down to the fact that he's German (and actually Austrian in real life), so a bit of his German would always slip in there. However, compared to *Brad Pitt*, his Italian was perfect.

This scene, with the way the audience knows and the characters know, everyone is not fooled, which makes this the moat awesome scene. Genius. It's also surreal in how funny it is. Fantastic. I won't tire of this.

Antonio Margheriti was a real director (also known with his Pseudonym Anthony M. Dawson), he has been the most proficient italian director in the fantasy genre and big inspiration to Kubrick, in Italy there's a movie award named after him. Enzo Gorlomi is a reference to Enzo Girolami Castellari (who often signed as Enzo G.) The director of the original inglorious bastards from 1977, (the real Enzo G. also makes a cameo in the 2009 movie as one of the nazis who attend the premiere). Dominic Decocco is the only fictional character of the three

Aldo Raine actually says "Buongiorno", which is "Good day" or "Good morning". If it's late at night, it should have been "Buonasera". Hans looks actually amused that they try to trick him. This entire film is a work of art.

Margheriti was a real Italian director who became famous due to his amazing span of genre like many directors of that period. Quentin is a great fan of directors such as Corbucci, Damato, Margheriti, Fulci, Deodato and many others.

OpenShores Landa knew Aldo, Donnovitz and the other guy were The Basterds because he interrogated the cross-marked soldiers who The Basterds let escape and because he found the Bridgette's shoe in the bar. Bridgette said them speal in italian because the germans have not hear for that language, but Landa was just acting
