Hans Rosling's prediction for the future is very exciting to wait for. He believes that our life expectancy and wealth will increase, that is amazing. His main reasons why he believes we will have a higher life expectancy and become more wealthy ( Aid, Trade and Green Technology) are going to boost jobs and is the future of our existences.

I don't believe there is a time when life expectancy was below 40. I need an to be explained. 200 years ago people lived many years unlike today with high health-related lifestyles and food

Maternal & infant mortality explains a lot of that low number. Of course there were old people. But so many mothers died in childbirth. And babies & young children. Hygiene (washing hands with soap) helped a lot.

Oh, I do really like this man. His optimistic analysis, however, does not factor in the planet-wide environmental collapse caused by out-of-control consumption and overpopulation. In 1810, the Amazon rainforest was intact, the old-growth forests on the northern Pacific Coast hadn't been logged, the Colorado River flowed into the Sea of Cortez, and the free-flowing Nile annually replenished the soil of the farms of Egypt. The rich farmlands of Silicon Valley and eastern China had not yet been paved over. The modest populations of the peoples of Africa lived happily in the relatively malaria-free highlands. Vast herds of buffalo (protein on the hoof) filled the Great Plains and vast numbers of salmon filled the rivers. Not anymore.

So, even in his plot is possible to see that unequality between countries raised. Also, this doesn´t show the full story, GDP is too limited and life expectancy is nice, but only one aspect of quality of life. I agree that the world now is better then 100 years ago, but this doesn´t mean its all better or even solved.
