The moment I realized that almost all my favorite movies has music composed by Hans Zimmer, I started to wonder: “Is Hans Zimmer lucky enough to get to score the greatest movies, or is it Hans Zimmer’s music that makes these movies great?” My guess is the latter

not only does he compose... ... he can play like 10+ instruments... holy shit

It's often both. Sometimes his scores elevate a bad movie. But in general he has done scores for movies that are great by themselves.

"Gladiator" itself is a great movie. Don't underestimate the work of the director and actors. And wonderful music completes it all. But without the film and its characters, this music would not be able to emotionally captivate as much.

Without realising, the only films I have ever had 'the chills' and an emotion connection with, Hans Zimmer has created the music for. Hans Zimmer makes the film. No matter good the actor or the script writing, Hans Zimmer tells the story and creates a masterpiece. What a genius, what a storyteller, what a human being. I am excited beyond belief to hear his rendition of James Bond. And I know that anyone who's listening to this piece of art is feeling the same!!

I first saw the lady and thought she looks f***ing fantastic. Then she sang.. As for Hanz Zimmer he's like what I would imagine todays Mozart, Elgar to be. What an honour to hear his content and even more so to see this!The Gladiator score gives me the same vibe and feeling I first had when I heard this in the cinema watching the film, DON'T STOP! :)

Amazing music... spiritual, powerful, beautiful, tragic and threatening. The battle music is so intense and along with the film, incredible. Shivers!. Have watched the movie so many times and still love it. Now We Are Free... etherial... godly... tragic , appropriate. Pure musical genus Hans Zimmer. It just sweeps me away. Thanks for putting this up for us to cherish. Your orchestra is wonderful and your singer (your little sister) - words do not do her talent justice. Bravo

No, its basically the equivalent as if Bach took a big dump on a note paper. At least compared to such a composer. This has nothing on the music composed by such geniuses as Bela Bartok, Stravinsky, Gustav Holst, Alberto Ginastera, Leonard Bernstein, Beethoven, Edvard Grieg and so on. This is no more then orchestral pop music easily digestible by the masses, which is primitively orchestrated. Music like this can be made on a pc with the right orchestral plugs if you are slightly knowledgeable on music theory or got decent ears. John Williams is also superior, the man is one of our times greatest orchestrators and melodic composers. I am not trying to be a bloke here, but i am tired that this man is always put on this pedestal when his music is heavily driven on overused cliches and uninteresting synthesizer programming.
@snuppssynthchannel7 жыл бұрын

You know, it's fine to say you opinions on music. But for fuck sake don't talk out of your ass and make statements as if they are facts. Oh and your " cliches " that you talk about HE made them into these cliches that other composers try to imitate.
