Hey you guys that think Leon was somehow perturbed or regretful, I've got a news flash for you. That's just him. His stage act has been nothing short of genius thru the years and the man is cool as a cucumber . His passion is in his fingers and throat. He's been providing kick ass rock and roll, country , and Tulsa for 60 years. About god damn time the world appreciates him.

For those of you who weren't there, and I was, he had his own set before Hanson came on and of course he performed the song with his own band. They were just bringing him back out so they could play the song with him. He was a longtime friend of theirs, being a fellow Tulsa native. R.I.P. to the Master of Space and Time!

Leon Russell is a fan of Hanson. He appreciates that despite their pop star icon status they know old time rock and roll. Leon is no musical snob playing with the likes of Doris Day and Frank Sinatra, to George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie and Bob Dylan. He supported Elton John on his first tour of the U.S., as everyone now knows with their new collaboration "The Union". Hanson were more musical then a lot of other groups out with them at their height of fame. If they dig Leon, I dig them! LOL

Hanson has known Leon for several years... Their relationship was nothing new when this performance took place, as far as I understand. All you haters need to calm down and do a little research. Do you know ANYTHING about Hanson other than Mmmbop? Pretty sure they've done more in the 20+ years they've been a band than you have in your entire lifetime so please stop being judgemental pricks. I'll admit, if all I had from Hanson was MMMBop and a couple of their early tunes I would pass them by as a boy-band. But they continued to grow in music and are pretty fun to listen to do. Their version of "Never Been to Spain" is a great version.

First of all legit or not, I like the Spice Girls. They were fun and their reunion tour was a blast so hush you and before some joke is made, I am 23. Second of all, Hanson is a cute band and they aren't bad musicians. Not to mention they are really nice guys. The reason Leon Russell "got stuck" with them is because he knows them and wanted to jam with Hanson. Hanson has gotten together with Leon multiple times just to have fun in the studio.

@mummyboyz im sorry but leon really enjoys playing w/ them. they really respect him b/c w/o him they probally wouldnt b here. they have played w/ him several times. they played here w/ him twice and played w/ him at mayfest on may 20, 2005. my aunt and my cousin were there and they said they really enjoyed it. my cousin thought hanson was hot. they own there own record label, help mothers and kids living in proverty or w/ HIV/AIDS in South Africa get help.

I admire Hanson--I wouldn't be able to play the piano on the same stage with 'The Master of Space and Time, fingers would just freeze up in the presence of his talent. His expression/affect? Go look at him in Mad Dogs and Englishmen or many other video clips. He ALWAYS looks bored and annoyed! Just his stage thing I guess-I borrowed it from him myself a couple times when I had to accompany, play in public! I figured if I looked bored like him, my nerves wouldn't show--and it worked!

@tulsaboyz2000, that's not nice. Leon Russell played piano and arranged songs for all the bubblegum bands back in the 50's & 60's, example is Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Some might consider that group in the same league as Hanson. While not a Hanson fan, they are talented, so I'm sure Leon was probably glad to be back performing & didn't care with whom.Plus, he's probably in his 70's. He's probably lost his pep.

Not a fan of Hansen, but for this particular song, complete disrespect for Leon Russell when that punk is playing the piano he should have backed off and let Leon take the spotlight. Either that or just not have Leon come out for that one song. Someone said they gave Leon a set. I should hope so and really hope he had his own band because that band can't hold a candle to to anything Leon puts together.
