I've seen the pattern before but never the actual tying mechanics, especially securing the lead head. Thanks again for tying this.

Thanks, Hans. I can't think of a better way to heavily weight a small nymph. To get that much lead weight wrapped on the hook shank would hurt the hook gap or bite, plus you get the hook point riding up so you're not catching the bottom.

***** Hans: One last thought. I do fish nymphs tied on 1/100 and 1/64 oz. micro-jig heads. I'm a total reject to the fly fishing purists but they do get down to the bottom where the trout are holding like no wire-wrapped nymph, or streamer for that matter, can.
