Handled explaining some delicate and deep religious (e.g. cremation) & political topics with ease and finesse. The authenticity came through. Even if you want to hate on the adopted / co-opted Houston swagger.. I ain’t mad at it if you carry the fusion well and know where you came from and what you stand for. @@believerofoneness Yes, and yet not everyone from Houston talks like that. Adopting that Southern rap subculture and co-opting AAVE/ebonics/Black vernacular is definitely a choice, artistic or otherwise. This is literally the ONLY "Tik Tok song" that I haven't absolutely despised after 2 days of hearing it used in every video. (Tik Tok literally ruins everything) I grew up in Memphis during the 90s and knew a few of the guys from 3-6 Mafia, so I IMMEDIATELY recognized his Project Pat flow in the first verse. I was hooked immediately and started finding all of his older music. Dude is legit and deserves all the success he's finding right now.
