The 1st bike I ever rode on the road in the early 70s was a Honda 125. Was fun. So I agree with you that there is nothing wrong with small displacement bikes. How are you enjoying your new venture in life, Vinny.

Good these bikes exist to allow young riders to start and older rider to possibly get a bike again just to bimble on country roads or get to work while saving on fuel. Cheap yes but I guess none of the dubious bits are so bad and can be replaced. Giving the owner a bit of personal touches. I guess as long as owners remember to not skimp on maintenance it will serve them well.
@roadblastmedia
@roadblastmedia 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate it feels like a very universal bike alot of the bits would be interchanged with other chinese models so parts would probably be plentiful and generic easy to work on and maintain, for the price point its a great little bike and perfect for a learner as if it gets dropped its not the end of the world plus very forgiving power

Bought one for my missus to learn on ,she loves it , it's a great laugh on the English B roads, we'll probably keep it even after she's passed her test, I've fitted Avon roadrider tyres on it , it handles way better on the tarmac !👌 It always gets looked at at traffic lights and when ever we're parked up somewhere, it looks like a proper bike , it gets as much attention as my Interceptor!😂😂

@melfzs
@melfzs 10 ай бұрын
@@YOLOSWAG420EZ it's been fine and reliable appart from the ignition switch, the contacts inside the switch got a bit corroded , so I had to dismantle the switch and clean the contacts and spray it with WD40 problem solved . As for the rest of the bike just keep it clean and apply a decent aerosol protectant on it after washing it , Servicing is easy just tappets and oil change to keep it running sweet . Oh also if you don't use it regularly keep the battery charged up 👍 Hope this is helpful Cheers 🍻

Cool, like the styling: is very old school. Looking for something cheap, and light, just to ride to the shops and maybe the beach, that I won't be too gutted about wrecking, lol. Just to ride till I feel like something bigger, while going through learners and restricted. Looks great - small power and weight upgrade from mountain biking - an easy to handle and forgiving starter.

Never heard of Hanway in the US and I'm not 100%, but I think linked brakes on two wheelers are not legal here. Definitely wouldn't want that off road!!😬 $3,500 NZD Google says is about $2,200 USD, so yeah, the price is right. I'd say it's a good scooter alternative or 1st bike for someone young, small or maybe a little timid. Delete the linked brakes and probably be a great stowaway campground bike too. On another note, I registered to get the opportunity to buy one of the 30 120th Anniversary Special Edition Interceptors being sent to the US. It happens 1:20 PM 25th August. 30 Interceptors and 30 Continental GTs. So wish me luck. I'll keep you informed.

I don't know, I love your enthusiasm for this oddball bike, but my thoughts are that you would have to be prepared to keep it and ride it into the ground, almost a disposable bike if you like, because it wouldn't have much resale value, then you have to ask yourself how long is it going to last for. IMHO, save a bit more money and get a Honda.
@roadblastmedia
@roadblastmedia 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is a bit of an odd ball and would be hard to resell as it is so cheap brand new anyway, parts are cheap and its very easy to maintain and work on being so bare bones id say if you looked after it well itd last a long while but yes saving a bit more and going for one of the big 4 would be the best idea in saying that this is perfect for someone who just wants a cool little cheap runner

£500 is $900nz so a bit more & $4400nz get a decent second hand 350-400cc on/off road bike but is great value & in NZ I'd say parts probably not to difficult to get being in the Asia Pacific trade region.
