So many of these great stars are no longer with us. Hollywood was still a great place in the 80s not so much anymore.😢

President Reagan's diary entry of May 24, 1987 brought me here. He was at Camp David that Sunday and wrote in his journal: "A beautiful sunshine, warm day-we rode again-with Nancy this time. I signed letters to each of the familys-the U.S.S. Stark victims. Then into the pool again. We ran the tape of the Special T.V. show on Hollywoods 100th birthday-3 hrs. It was worth it."

Had the pleasure of working on this show. Met a lot of the greats and they were very nice..most off them. (Smile) It was a great experience.

@@jordanlandry1279 when “she” has passed I will revisit this post. Lana Turner & Betty White were both fantabulous ladies that night.

We worked and filmed for over 11 hours band put together what they wanted to. Sorry, that you did not get to see the magnificent kind people that were there for that taping.

IMDB lists some stars I didn't notice: Bea Arthur, Lucille Ball, Gene Barry - were they in it? And no Mickey Rooney?

Am I right that in 2 1/2 hours the only mention of Judy Garland was "Thanks, Mama"?!

Others have pointed out that this is a heavily edited version. I came here from watching Ann Miller's marathon tap dance video prep for her performance in this... and she's completely missing! I also noticed how it's been edited (in that certain 80's style) of having all the men speak, and the women were just pretty objects to look at. My heart hurts for what Judy & Ann had to put up with in the 40's.

Who was that female voiceover during the end credits. I've only been used to Roger Carroll, Bill Rice, and Wally Parker on voiceover duties.
