I am totally with Barbee0913 on the "Hello Kitty Apple Tree" doll, she's definitely one of my modern faves for all the reasons your mom mentioned. For basic beach dolls, I adore the entire "Surf City" line from 2000, and for childhood nostalgia, I'd have to go with "Rollerblading Barbie" from 1993...that was definitely a look, heh. I mainly collect Barbies from 1959-1965. I love the early ones. However as a kid my favorite Barbie line was the 2002 mermaid fantasy Barbies, especially the mermaid fantasy Kayla.

Hi girls! Your selections from your collections was great! I’m a fan of vintage Barbie but I enjoy most of the later barbies too. My first Barbie was a brunette Bubble Cut that my father bought for me and I know we could barely afford her in the early 60’s. Unfortunately many of my Barbie’s were stolen recently. So I am on the hunt for replacement dolls from my childhood. I am a recent subscriber and your Barbie videos are very interesting and informative! Keep it up 😀!

Those old Barbies bring back memories. I had a lot of them when they came out.. I was an excuse for my mom to buy them because she love sewing doll clothes. The out fit that burned into my head was a real full length mink coat with pill box hat and muff.. all lined with gold silk. She got the mink off a old lady coat. The dress was a gold silk calf length pencil skirt with a chiffon top. sweetheart neckline and capped sleeves . She use to sew for wealthy women during the war so she was really good. The brat next door who had everything for Barbie-snagged it from me which was pretty dumb because I was the only one who would play with her.

Hee! The Barbie and the Sensations doll is the same age as me! We still have an original Totally Hair Barbie still in the box. It's a little bent up, but it hasn't been opened. I also distinctly remember having the Dance Moves Barbie, and I think I remember playing with a Beach Blast Barbie at one point, as well. I really need to get all my old Barbies out, and see which ones I have. I just love this video, and the Dance Moves Barbie really gave me a blast from the past.

I love that Hello Kitty Barbie and regret not getting the My Melody one when she was cheaper. I still have brunette Totally Hair, red head Glitter Hair, and once had most of the Sensations. My childhood favs are Totally Hair and Hollywood Hair.

Yay! Happy Birthday, Barbie! Hmmm... my favorite Barbie is probably Magic Moves. She's the doll that began my collecting, and holds a special meaning to me. But I love so so many! Great selection... so much variety. I like the Sensations choice; that's a "band" line that doesn't get too much attention. xo

Me too. It always confused me as to why they changed the names because, in the video at least, they're the same characters in different fashions haha. I never knew about the differences in the US and UK versions... they got Bobby?? And they were called the "Bi-Bops" lol.

I think that Silkstone Barbie is my favorite! She’s gorgeous, and that dress! My favorite childhood Barbie was the Corduroy Cool Barbie with the strawberry blonde hair and baby blue accessories! I wish I still had her :(

Im late to the party! LoL I love all your faves! They are all so lovely. I was finally able to get two vintage dolls. I got a vintage Francie and I believe a #6 or 7 ponytail with green ear. I need to fix her up. But I love my Francie, I always wanted one and I finally have one!! Do you have any Francies? I would love to see a vid on your older dolls, I love them ^_^

Have the two of you ever considered that the original concept for Totally Hair Barbie may have come from Tropical Barbie who came out just a few years before with hair down to her ankles? What do you think of that? Great videos. Keep them coming!

awesome! love Totally Hair Barbie the most, probably!!! oh, wait! the Sparkle Eyes Barbie shares the first place in my heart! and fun fact - Ken was named after the Handler's son! a bit weird to think about it, actually... like Barbie and Ken are siblings in reality... and I'm not a big fan of the Barbie's first mold, but 70s Barbie's face is adorable, so teen looking! and a 'superstar', of corse! those are gorg infinitely! and I actually prefer the both bent arms, not the straight ones - it's easier to play with them with the bent arms! ^_^

My favorite Barbie was one that was gifted to me as a xmas gift in the early to mid 90s. She I believe was a Hawian barbie, She smelled good, had black hair and wore a bikini.

You can usually find some of those kinds of Barbie's at decent prices if they need a little TLC. Krista (Krista's Doll Restoration) is great at fixing them up!

Pretty dolls. I do not think that we had the brunette Barbie in Norway. We had the blond one. And the doll with blue dress was a friend of Barbie.

Not in the case of some of the dolls in the 90's, like Totally Hair. That was just a brunette Barbie, Not Teresa.

It is possible that the brunette was called Teresa in Norway too... But when I Googled "Totally hair Barbie" I did find pictures of boxes that said "Barbie" and "brunette." When I Googled "Totally Hair Teresa" I found pictures of Finnish ads for "Ultra Hair Whitney" so it is more likely that the brunette was Whitney in Norway too... Whitney had a different face from the two mentioned Barbie dolls, but I think it is the same face sculpt that was used on Benetton Teresa (who was a red head).
