I only joined your community last year for the start of Prep-tober so October of 2023 was my first introduction to you. My very first video that I ever watched of yours was the 2023 Nano-Prep-tober planner. :) Your story of George telling you to come move in with him makes me smile. You may remember me telling you I met MY husband playing Original EQ. :) We've now known each other over 25 years and been married for over 21 of them. Your story always makes me smile.

So many don't put their whole heart into what they do. I'm so glad that you are one of the few that put love and passion in everything you do.

The first book I remember reading (definitely not the first book I read, lol) was one of RAH's annual juveniles, Red Planet. I was 7 and the school librarian was horrified when I asked for more like it. She insisted that I had to read Space Cat Meets Mars, and Space Cat Visits Venus if I wanted more books on space. I hated them. With a passion. She also wouldn't let me take out more Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys books because she felt my choices were too difficult or whatever. All the books I wanted to read were apparently for kids in Grade 4 and up (and I was in Grade 2).

I honestly get so upset when I hear that kids weren't allowed to take out books above their level. But it's so fun when you find something that ignites that passion!

@@SarraCannon the worst part is that it wasn't above my level, it just didn't fit her perception of what a 7 yo's level "should" be. I was already reading my grandmother's Reader's Digest Condensed Books at that point. I started reading at 4 and remember watching TV, reading a book, and knitting at my grandmother's house *at the same time* when I was probably 5. (She sold the house when I was about 7.5, so it couldn't have been later than that.)

@@liisaking1247 oh right sorry that's what I meant by level! Like above what the suggested reading level is!

That's so sad. Aren't librarians supposed to encourage reading, especially if you are beyond what she perceived as your grade level? And to have you read books, you don't like? It's great that you didn't lose your love for reading.

What an amazing story. I feel like you would have a wonderful memoir if you chose to write it. Also, where did you get your tiara? It’s so gorgeous.
