On September 3, 1957, 14-year-old chess prodigy Bobby Fischer woke up with a new championship title and an extra $125 dollars in his bank account. Bobby started his summer by winning the United States Junior Chess Championship in July, then went on to defeat Arthur Bisguier at the prestigious US Open Chess Championships in August. On September 2nd, Fischer defeated James T. Sherwin in the seventh and final round of the New Jersey Open, played at the Independent Chess Club in East Orange, New Jersey.

After studying many of the great chess players from the past I think Fischer is still my favorite player. Not just because of his playing ability but because of his sheer determination to demolished the Soviet stranglehold on elite chess. Morphy is my other favorite player but of course his chess career was cut too short. BTW, congrats on 0 dislikes after 24k views!

People are asking for chess opening tutorials. I see many chess openings, but all the moves are always explained as "standard theory", and not why they are good. Can you pick any opening and go move by move, explain why each move is the best one? It's a lot to ask, but THE PEOPLE NEED YOU!

John LaBrie maybe just start remembering chess theory or check games on chessbase in the opening you need and remember those moves and then if you take the moves with an engine it will show why those are the best moves

I know there are many ways to find the information, but as this is my favourite chess channel and Antonio was asking for ideas about what to do future videos on, I thought I would mention this. Some other people expressed interest in openings too, but Antonio says he's not very strong at openings so he probably doesn't want to do this in case he makes mistakes in his explanations. That's understandable.

Maybe you can start a second channel, something like "Agadmator Teaches Chess" and that channel has some tutorials, some explanations of opening theory, middle game strategy and end-game strategy. Draw on some examples from your favourite games, show the engine analysis at different positions and after different moves. This channel will always be "agadmator chess channel" and i dont think you should do tutorials here, but maybe in another forum; another channel or on your website as a member-login premium material or something. Lots of ideas for you

This game alone inspired me to add the King's Indian Attack to my repertoire. Haven't regretted it since. Something about pushing c3 to push d4, possibly e5 and marching the king side pawns up the board gets my Jimmy wet.

That statement about the prize money is funny for me because when I was 13 I got my first tournament first place with a prize of 100 pounds (1965) with a perfect score of 8/8. I was the only person to win that tournament with a perfect score in the 100+ years it had been running annually (some luck was involved). A few years later I started playing regularly with John Nunn when he was 14 and he was so much stronger than me that I ceased to think of chess as something to spend a large amount of time on. Then, years later Nunn thought that Anand was way above his level and had a similar shift in his attitude towards OTB chess. I cannot imagine what it must have felt like as a professional getting crushed in a match by Fischer in his prime.

you suggested that if the game continued it would or could at the very least end up at 9:45 black bishop to d7 white queen to e6 check and you said that the king had to move but if king stays at e8 and moves rook to e7 blocking the queen what would happen next if the game continued ? If white plays rook to e1 at that point black could just play rook to e6 capturing the queen and after maybe white captures rook with rook onto e6 check king to to f7 what would white do then in your opinion from there ?

The massive inflation of the mid-70's destroyed the dollar. The OPEC oil embargo of 1974 played merry hob hell with the economy. Then again, you can't blame OPEC; the embargo was a direct consequence of massive US support for the Zionist Occupation State in the 1973 war.

Look Antonio, I have an interesting and 'novelty' #suggestion : Explain each great player's style by comparing them through the same complex and equal position. Choose 3 positions: 1 from the end of the opening where they transpose into middlegame from opening, 1 from middlegame and 1 from endgame. All positions should be complex and equal without one side having advantage. Then, in each position show each player's style by what would they probably do due to their style. For ex: In this position, Petrosian would strengthen the defense while Tal would do this move in order to attack.

Amil Sarfraz Tempo is one move on chess. So when you attack with tempo, you force opponent to make one move, he wouldn't normally do. Hence lose tempo.
