Bon anniversaire Monsieur Winston Marsalis. 💐🙏🎺

7 Levels of musical “gifting” enabled by love ==> LEVEL 1: playing/singing for a loved one, LEVEL 2: in public restaurant, LEVEL 3: with an original composition (improvisation), LEVEL 4: inspiring them to dance, LEVEL 5: with enough variations to wear out the dancing loved one, LEVEL 6: irrespective of the wait staff clearing the table, LEVEL 7: and finishing one-handed while locking eyes with the loved one as you finish…affirming just how profoundly and personally they are loved…resulting in tears and a hug of gratitude. Wynton has clearly been influenced by our mutual Friend who is known for bold demonstrations of love. Well done!

If i can remember correctly we were at a fine dining restaurant (Maybe Paul Bocuse) in Lyon celebrating the honorary doctorate that the University of Lyon had just awarded to Wynton. I believe it was the head of the departments birthday (the man sitting just to the right of Wynton). It was a few years ago so I'm possibly getting some details wrong :)
