Here's an arrangement of Happy Birthday that we created and performed for my mother ("Grandma Gingrich") today. Some listeners will notice two snippets of tunes adapted from Beethoven symphonies. Most of the arrangement has a "Beethovenesque" feel, but we switch to a 4/4 jazz rhythm at the end. Enjoy!
Special thanks to oldest daughter for suggesting an improvement to one of the cello lines I wrote for her, special thanks to youngest daughter for deciding to do the hand cross move at the end to make it more exciting, and special thanks to middle daughter for playing the high note at the end, even if she hasn't officially been taught to play it yet. Thanks to all three--and to my wife who ran the video--for persisting through about a dozen recording takes and helping choose one of the best. :-)
And special thanks to my mom for sharing her love with us all!
