I feel like people think Ray Chen is just some born super natural talent who is effortlessly one of the best violinists of all time but the truth is on top of all that talent - he practices more than just about anyone and puts sooo much effort into his music. Some people think once you reach a certain level you have everything figured out but it's inspirational how maybe the best violinist on the planet practices more than even intermediates preparing for an audition. That's how you reach the level that Ray is at. He's also using the Dolphin Stratavarius which sounds SO FKIN GOOD (currently on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation).
@tomsd86563 ай бұрын
Usually great performers have the capacity to put in a lot more work than the ordinary person without getting tired. You'll notice this in every field, not just music. And the genius is a level above that. But of course, there has to be something inborn that spurs a person to love a certain endeavor to the point they don't feel tired or bored even after hours of doing what they do. I think all of us have passion for something, but how much can you spend time doing that thing without getting tired? That's the difference.
@Feathertail22052 ай бұрын
@@tomsd8656Very well put. I struggle to even find that one passion that I'm willing to work my whole life for (even if I could only spend one hour a day for it). I could literally listen for tens of minutes to those two players playing their instruments together . They have such an art, such energy and such dynamics together that you just get drawn into their music like a funnel and then even when they stop you find yourself still going on wondering where the music has gone. But when it is those two and then others start playing it just makes it feel like FANTASIA ( a level of fantasy and magic and music all in one area that draws you in and then takes you to an area where normal does not exist anymore only your own imagination exists and that is the only thing that keeps you tethered to reality) and then you can eventually come back to reality and rejoin with the world as you know it.

Congrats to you Emilio on spontaneously accompanying a world-class violin virtuoso who also happens to be a total sweetheart with zero ego. Isn't music cool? I'm so glad this appeared in my recommends. Subscribed! For those interested, here's Ray in concert with the piece: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqeqqZVnYr6jh6c Edit: Ok, I just came from your Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 1 in C op.15 video. I had no idea you were world-class yourself! Outstanding!

I have an even greater love for violin music, just listening to Ray Chen play . He really loves what he is doing, giving the world a piece of Heaven's classical (and sometimes popular) music for those of us who will never get to the concert halls, to see and listen to the greats play pieces that are so heart-stopping. Keep it up, Ray Chen!!!❤😊🎉😅❤

After watching this I begin to reflect on the tremendous work Ray Chen must have put into getting so good at this. It makes it all the more gratifying that he seems to love doing it.

I mean tbh the deceptive nature of the video makes it pretty impossible to enjoy for me I thought lying was supposed to be a bad thing but I guess nobody cares anymore It's not even necessary, too, simply saying "I played with ray Chen in public" is amazing enough do you REALLY have to lie on top of that? It's kind of ridiculous honestly. Maybe he's just a compulsive liar.

It's funny, you can see/hear him waiting on certain transitions, he's in-the-moment staying behind in case you were to play a wrong measure or wrong chord etc., so he could follow YOU and have it not all fall to pieces.. but then you hit everything perfectly and he starts grinning, like "I should never have doubted" lol
