All cows experience grass. They are only kept in the cow shed during winter. It would cost to much to keep them in any longer. Cows eat a lot and they do best on grass.

@quivuswillow8960
@quivuswillow8960 6 жыл бұрын
Audrey Young your attempt to be savage or step out as the victor in this is fruitless because as anyone can tell, these cows are happy and frolic. That is a sign of happiness. Just cause your not into animal husbandry doesn't mean someone else's opinion that it is perfectly fine, is invalid. These animals were raised and breed to be used for human consumption and the fact they have milk that most humans want and like, is the reason these aren't beef cows.
@klikbate8916
@klikbate8916 6 жыл бұрын
Audrey Young i love these happy cows as much as anyone, but humans are omnivores biologically. It is okay for us to enjoy animal products. Dont treat it like it's unnatural. I mean of course we could go about it in a more humane way, but it isnt wrong to eat cows or any other domestic farm animal. We bred them to eat them
@triggeredmate2347
@triggeredmate2347 6 жыл бұрын
kitty kitty Honestly, if humans were designed to eat meat it wouldn't make sense that 9/10 top killers are diseases caused by the consumption of meat. Besides that, you can't say it's okay to do what you want with an animal because you bred it. 100 years ago we "bred" slaves to use them, now looking back that might've not been the nicest thing?

Susi Batstone They're only happy now because they got let out of their pen. They spent all winter in a little pen and are kept in perpetual pregnancy, just so you can have a bit of milk in your tea or on your porridge. What's happening is unnatural.
@thefunkyfarmer
@thefunkyfarmer 9 жыл бұрын
Interesting comments from Superjourneyer, please allow me to reply. They are only kept inside during the winter as they would suffer from health problems if kept out over winter. If you look at some of my other videos you will actually see that they want to come inside from November and actually wait at the gate to be let inside when the weather brakes. As for being perpetually pregnant you are mistaken. The cows are given a rest period before they are served again, far more so than in nature where a bull would try and mate with a cow as soon as it could

SuperJourneyer these cows clearly live nice lives. Probably better than what they would experience in the wild. Also, who's to say what's natural? It seems like it's "natural" for humans to work with animals. These guys wouldn't even exist without humans, they're domesticated animals.

Their babies get ripped away which is a lot of emotional stress and because they get impregnated every year their vody collapses around 5yrs altho the normally woukd kive uo to 20yrs. Abd then they get killed for meat. Not very happy and its everything else but kind.

@Troyisful
@Troyisful 10 жыл бұрын
summer s Death is part of nature. Everything alive, must die eventually - you and me included. Your children too. The only thing with eternal life are Jellyfish. Cows are not Jellyfish. Humans are not Jellyfish. Also, although lethal injection cannot be used in cows, a shot in the head or gas is cruelty free. It has no pain. THAT'S the true meaning of cruelty free. Nevermind that humans evolved to be omnivores. Eating meat once every two weeks does not make be Vegan, but it definitely helps.
@Summer-kn3ft
@Summer-kn3ft 10 жыл бұрын
Wow for you to consider Gas Chambers & Bolts to the head cruelty free" just says your ignorant. Would you want to die that way? Put yourself in their shoes. Cows don't want to be eaten they want freedom like you and I want. You see their happiness in this video and yet you still want to eat them?
@Troyisful
@Troyisful 10 жыл бұрын
summer s Well, yes. I rather die from a shot to the head, unlike cows from a non organic farm which usually die with punches and kicks to the head, decapitation and shocks - slow deaths. If you'd rather die a long and agonizing death, it's not problem, to each it's own. I'm not ignorant, I've watched MeatVideo and Food, Inc. I know the pain they go through in factory farms. Zebras and Gazelles don't want to be eaten either, yet they are the basic food to Lions, Cheetahs and Hyenas. We humans have evolved to be omnivores, we are MEANT to eat meat. The proof is in your teeth - you have canines to rip open throats and molars to crush nuts and fruit. Just like the amazon tribes eat other humans and have more canines than us. Yes, we can live in a Vegan diet. However, I have dogs to feed. Even If I become Vegetarian or Vegan, I'll keep feeding my dogs meat and buying it because dogs need an 80% protein diet, so yeah, there's no solution to that one. The real problem to society is that they eat TOO MUCH meat. Just once every two weeks is enough, but people eat it more than 5 times a week - reason they animals suffer too much. Unnecessary suffering, in my opinion.
@thefunkyfarmer
@thefunkyfarmer 10 жыл бұрын
we are not an organic farm but try to ensure the cattle have a good life. i dont recognise the description you give of how cattle die on non organic farms. Animal welfare should be important to all farmers, if not they shouldnt farm. if you eat meat you have to accept that an animal will die because of that choice

@WhiteWolfos
@WhiteWolfos 9 жыл бұрын
Antonie Thomas de Koning I grew up with some cows. They know more tricks than the dog lol. Its just the same as saying dogs and horses are stupid, if you don't train or condition them they will live their lives more independent of humans. Even then, they are intelligent. An average cow will recognize over 100 cows individually. And that doesn't require human training.

Djas Kang I agree. I don't like total confinement operations. Farmers in Missouri have already figured out how to raise hogs outdoors in partly wooded pasture, which is fantastic. People are producing eggs without total confinement. If people will support them by buying ag products produced in this way, that's great. Dry-lotting or putting cows in a barn for the winter is better than keeping them on pasture in some areas, though. Some soils when wet can't take the hoof traffic without developing impairing soil compaction problems.

+Djas Kang First you need humans to stop with over consumption. This goes for developed countries. Cows r essentially very emotional animals.. They consider their owners family...We had cows..and a water buffalo.. And an ox..The ox wont even go back to its shed at night until my old Grandpa said a few words to him ..He wud just come n stand near his chair and wud refuse to move.. 2 old guys..who worked for 20+ years in fields together.. When my grandpa passed away..(we hav many days of rituals in India), the ox, which was very old and just stayed home..not even leashed...it wud come to the door from its shed and wud listen in to all the chanting of rituals etc standing there for hours ..and wud leave only when the rest of the people left.. He too passed away soon after..He was buried near where my grandfather was cremated.. When we go back to our village..we always go there and fold our hands in reverence.. He is as much our elder as Grandpa was and God too..for us..😊🙏

Those are all girls. In the dairy industry, boys are disposed of quick. And the cows get impregnated artificially. Dairy bulls get jacked off so their semen can be sold, shipped, stored, and used whenever. Very efficient. Very disturbing. Easy to look up.

When I lived in London ON, there was a farm right across the street and during the summer days I would hop the fence with a bag of apples and chill with the cows in the grass and the sun and feed them. I remember at times I'd have 2 or three cows lying down and I'd be using one as a pillow. Cows are such sweet animals man.

Such happy cows! Where I used to live in Florida, behind our subdivision was a farm and every Spring they'd send out notices to the residents that they were letting the cows out to the pasture for the first time in months and everyone would go set up chairs and watch as the cows happily ran and jumped and skipped out into the green grass under the warm sunny blue sky. We called it the "Running of the Cows". It just goes to show you that animals do indeed have emotion and can express happiness and joy just like us.

Human do, in fact, need to eat meat in order to survive in mass. We're evolved as omnivores. That doesn't mean that we can't let the creatures we eat have happiness and live life, though. Thank you for letting us see this. This is very uplifting.

Noam Chomsky Honestly, a fruit-heavy diet seems highly feasible. However, the claim that we were primarily so seems a little sketchy. We evolved during a time of great climate upheaval and fluctuation. Much of that involved drought and desert life, if I recall correctly. On account of this, I have to imagine that fruit was probably too unreliable to serve well as a primary food source. Yes, it'd be plentiful during wet times, but during the desert periods it would have been uncommon, and highly seasonal. Also, I have to say, our teeth don't seem specialized for fruit. Among other things, I have trouble imagining what purpose our canines and grinders are supposed to serve to this end. Our mouths do seem, in my opinion, very much like that of other omnivores. Incisors, canines, and grinders. Good at all, best at none.

fshn4x4 Watch video Uprooting Leading Causes of Death by Dr Greger. COPD - higher anti-oxidants in fruit and vegetables. Alzheimer's is primary a vascular disorder therefore high cholesterol equals high risk. Parkinson's - neurotoxins in diary. Suicide - plant based diet can increase mood. Wholefood plant based diet can in some cases also reverse three leading killers Heart Disease, Cancer and COPD.

For a severely mistreated cow, death is relief. For cows like these, being taken to the slaughterhouse is betrayal. There is not a right way to do the wrong thing, and exploiting animals for their bodies is the wrong thing. This may be less bad, but its still horrible
