This episode had the funniest bits and also the most beautiful uninterrupted conversations, a good balance to the show. With how diverse India is, a lot of the details are different in my part of India. We don't have kharcha or see it as a new year (both are in a different part of the English year), prayers are not the central part and it's more about bursting fireworks (signifying bursting your selfish ego apart to make space for the divine), and we do call it Deepavali most often (Diwali still sounds foreign to me). But all the differences can't take away from the the fact that for all of us, it's a time to celebrate and connect with the tradition, to come together as families, and to take a moment to notice and appreciate the people around us. Happy Diwali 🎇❤

Beautiful kurti, and another great episode as always :) It’s actually pronounced “Deepaa-vali” (more emphasis on first half) and used more in the south. I’m Tamilian and that’s what we say usually. Originates from ‘deepam’ which means lamp and ‘oli’, which means light 🪔
