I'm glad to hear you had a good year, even with the tragedy. A proof class is pretty cool and is definitely something that is needed and not common place. You can go just about anywhere and get help with calculus or even ODE, but proofs and abstract algebra are different.

Thank you! Proofs can be very hard, but from my own experience, I can say they are so rewarding once you master the basics! The pleasure one takes in the proof is quite liberating!

@@citytutoring Yeah it does feel nice when you work one out. I'm not a proficient prover. I can do basic ones, and i can spit out the famous ones you learn, if I study them, but i can't say i always gain insight from them. Like the CLT proofs that i've seen don't do much for me. I've been out of math for 16 years and I haven't taken a mathematically demanding stat class in 12. Most of what i do is either direct data analysis, statistical consultation, and some basic computer simulations.

I appreciate every single comment you have made. I believe that my faith in God strengthens me in the face of adversity, because throughout my life I have faced many a challenge, but the verse that has kept me going is I Corinthians 10:13 which says "but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." I am also reminded of the great Christian men and women who, as they knew the Titanic was sinking, kept playing music and trusting in God until the very end. What else can we do except to trust God and know our limitations? What else can we do but "keep calm and carry on", to use the old British motivational phrase? 2024 has been one of the best years of my life, but also one of the most painful, a pain I had never experienced in my life, but God will prevail. Thank you again for your support.
