We were in our camper seeing the New Year in at Salisbury as our dogs font really like fireworks and I’m glad to say there were a few but not enough to frighten them unlike in Portsmouth we are still here we have had 58mph winds rain sleet snow sunshine but we have loved our time away x we are a hectic household I still have my two sons with there girlfriends and my three year old grandson living with me but that is soon to change my son who has my grandchild has finally saved enough to buy his own house and will be moving out in the next month so my house will begin to breathe but I said to hubby we need to desperately declutter so I enjoy living in my house I know it can be done as overall I have spent six months of this year living in my van conversion camper without all the clutter be watching your decluttering to inspire me x

Oh that sounds lovely!! I need to get out and explore more. A night in a random spot. See what I find. So glad you are enjoying it. It's great having family around but it's nice to have your home to yourself too.

The cake turned out great !. I purged my cookbook cupboard once and got rid off all the book I didn't use. I usually find that I check Pinterest for recipes now... it's so convenient doing it that way.

That's sounds a great idea. I spent today going through my food cupboards. I had a mass of bread flour so I made a loaf, and will use that all up before I buy a shop loaf. I am also trying to purge 'stuff'.... And learn the amount a 'stuff' I bring home. My weakness is charity shops and Amazon xx

If I go shopping then I will buy.... I am being more conscious now in my purchases. Do I really need it? 🤔 I'm doing well with the purging. At least one thing each day has gone in that box. Usually more.

I normally dislike new year's eve, but I was kindly invited to a party at a really good friend's house. Although inside I was wishing I could stay at home we had the best time ever. Sometimes it does do you good to push yourself lol I have got into terrible work routine as I go to bed but then go on you tube and then there is a certain person I need to watch....umm who could that be???? X

HNY Mrs Spog .. As a baker of 30+ years , not a tesco or asda type ,they are push button specialists ,I've made a few xmas cakes choc logs and mince pies . Maturity in a xmas cake is key ,you lady are doing that just fine , hope your NY resolution is still intact. Snowing here atm no van trips not worth the risk . Out !

The matured calendar is awesome. Tastes great. Next year's is now maturing! We gave had a tiny sprinkle of snow. Feeling quite underwhelmed by it 😌 Have you got a lot? Stay safe.

we have a very old farmhouse cook book from 1977 it was from a series on tv its got lot great recipies the others i got are river cottage cook books hugh furnley whittingstall great vid pippa happy new year donny xx

Also I have made a pact with myself to get fitter.. Lost a stone over last 5 weeks( I am type 2 diabetic so really need to lose weight!) 70 lbs to go 😮😮. Plan to walk more and swim, shame I don't live near I could join you on dog walks lol x

Haha.... sorry for laughing at your chaotic night with dogs, cat, window, fireworks, car alarms, power outage and lack of sleep. You only see that in cartoons.. hahaha You really want to know about our new year. Well,,, it actually started on our anniversary on the 27th. Hubby decided to follow my son onto our roof to check the flashing in one area.. and as hubby climbed off the roof onto the ladder, the ladder slipped with hubby on in, going sideways with him on it. Son screams.. I hear commotion from in the house, I look out window to see ladder and hubby going sideways. I go running.. hubby is on the ground, my son on the roof looking down, with blood dripping from his hand. Thankfully as bad as it could have been, somehow hubby was able to block his fall, twisting his ankle on the ground... and the bleeding hand my son had was from his grabbing at the ladder to at least slow it down. After a good hand clean, thankfully my son only had a small skin tear. Hubby was positive he didn't break a bone, but badly sprained it. So. lots of epsom salt foot soaks and using a cane, he's now without the cane, and healing. Trying to tell an 81 year old to stay off ladders is maddening.. but I did threaten him that I will give the ladders away if he gets on them again. Sorry for the long story.. but you did ask how are new years is going........... LOL !!!

Oh my good lord!!! That sounds like a real drama moment. I'm glad none of the injured were badly so. After all that..... was the roof in need of attention or did they get up there for nothing 😆

@@WormsEyeView .. They were just checking the flashing around the vent stacks to make sure everything is in good order before the snow comes, and all was good. Hubby is improving, not needing his cane for support, and walking with minimal pain.. STUBBORN OLD MEN!. haha
