He is adorable!! I don't care what doubters say, these little birb geniuses know what they are saying and why. Sometimes they play with words but much of the time they are watching, listening and learning from their human family. When they talk they include a tilt of the head, a certain look, and, or, the correct inflection IE: he wasn't expecting, or doesn't want the cover over him so he adorably says "whatya doing?", with that obvious question mark :) I love this little one 😘🐦

I just got a Blue quaker less than 2 weeks ago and am completely in love with this breed. Your guy(assume male?) is adorable. I cant wait for mine to get past baby hood and speak.. He has already learned how to coo with me and say mama. How old is Romeo?

Oh my. Its my second day with mine and i am having the hardest time with him. Ive left him in his cage and i give him 1-2 hours on his cage. But he moves away and screams when i try to take him for anything. Also, is it normal when they roll/scratch their tongue with their beak? Like a nibbling noise. Thank u and please any advice would help!

I know your's is an old comment, but I hope you don't mind my late reply! I have a quaker, too, and I'm pretty sure the tongue/beak thing is normal. Ours sort of grinds his beak together (top and bottom together), and we sort of say that it's him "purring", because he only does it when he's content. Do you mean that he sticks his tongue out the side or something and then sort of nibbles his beak? I can't really picture what you're saying well...! I hope you guys are getting along well!

@@olgs37 Hope you held out til your quaker was more mature. Sometimes the beak clicking can mean they are dis content or nervous. Quakers see hands as a weapon, so I am using only my sleeve or let him climb out on his own.

@@nmenme4446 Oh, no. He's quite used to us and it's quite obvious that he's very content when he does it. He's all fluffed up, one-footing, with his eyes closed most of the time he's doing it. Or he'd climb/fly onto our shoulders and start doing it on there. We've had him for about four years, but it took him about a year to start doing that. So I'm confident enough to say that he's happy and content when he does it. He makes it very obvious when he's unhappy. In fact, he's kind of an asshole. But he's OUR asshole. The funny thing is that our Amazon is in love with him (and she's over twice his size!) but he's very mean and standoffish toward her and that makes her extremely sad. What a jerk. Oh. He's waddling over to me right now. We also don't close the birds' (Amazon, Quaker, cockatiels) cages ever and let them come out whenever they please and he never uses any cage (except to go eat, drink and poop; he's potty trained) as he's claimed the entire house as his own. He's the only one who decided that cages aren't good enough for him. It's not ideal, but he is who he is.
