Hardly ever have trouble out of b/s coils but the kohler xt6 engine has a problem with defective coils after several years 😢😢😢

Tommy. Not to second guess you, but you need to spin the engine faster to make a good spark. One issue I’ve been seeing. Is the rubber needle seat swells and fuel will only dribble into the carb so it runs out of fuel faster than it refills. To test this. I let it run until it dies. Then give it a shot of juice. If it starts. You know it’s a fuel issue. I’ve just seen so few coils go bad that I’m Leary

Also spot the kohler have a screen fitting inside the fuel hose also Be sure to check that out with air pressure thru hose 😮

I always pull the blower housing and spin the flywheel with an impact on the flywheel nut to check the coil, disconnecting the kill wire from the coil. If the coil is bad, I am ready to change it out.

the reasoning for having the front wheels higher then the rear by 1 level, is it mulches better. because when the mower first goes over the grass it cuts it at a higher level but when the rear of the mower moves over it it cuts it a little shorter but has less to cut. and smaller clippings . it also helps the engine some not bog down . cheers happy saturday.

I'm pulling my hair out! I picked up a craftsman 7.0 platinum yesterday and it was free but looked like brand new everywhere. It was severely overfilled with oil.so drained it down and cleaned carb which wasn't really dirty but had orange gas in it so got rid of that refueled and it won't start got spark and juiced it it?almost starts but it's blowing oil and smoke out the crankcase breather when I pull it. What to do ? Call it no compression and move on or what? Did I miss something?

Head gasket Do a leak down test 😊 Then you’ll have a good ideal what to do 😊

@@philliphall5198 haven't got a leak down tester yet or compression guage guess it's time to spend some money on tools.

wow, the TB230 used to have a 190cc engine? It only has a 163cc engine now, and the price is higher. bastards hahahahaha. 190cc does seem like overkill though for a 21 inch mower. I've seen 24 inch riding mowers with a 190cc engine and they ran just fine.
@timewa85119 күн бұрын
The 190cc is considered a big block now. Usually for self-propel . Great engines, Quantums.
