Yes John Lennon wrote this song,but to those wasing Thought on debating which is better, just think... seriously spend a thought on how proud he would of been to see children singing in chorus decades after his death to a song he wrote in protest to war... that thought alone made the experience of listening to Sarah's performance here great as any time I listened to John sing it.

I am a 41 year old Disabled Marine Veteran. I have seen a lot of messed up stuff in this world, but two things have given me inspiration throughout life- music and positive people others can look up to. For me, Sarah McLachlan is tops on both lists. This is such a beautiful version of a classic song. My favorite Christmas song sung by one of my favorite artists. A very Merry Christmas indeed.
