I have only been crocheting for a1 year and have made some lovely things. In consider an expert knitter. I felt so stupid I tried for three days to get the decreasing correct. Show me and I get it. But could never read crochet patterns I am 87 yrs old and I was knitting when I was 8 yrs. old .Now I have my iPad since year 2000 I enjoy your accent as I am English by birth.

How cool is that?! I've been frustrated with the way decreases -- especially single crochet decreases -- can really mess up the heretofore smooth look of a piece. In the future, I'll give the invisible decrease method a go. Thank you so much for giving me another tool in my crochet arsenal. I'm jazzed! I love your video tutorials. Always so clear and easy to follow. The camera is great -- I can see every loop of every stitch, so it's easy as pie to follow your hook and see exactly what you're doing. And you have a real talent for giving clear explanations and knowing how often to repeat something to make it easier for all of us to follow along and remember what you've shown us. Outstanding. And on top of all that, you have such a pleasant voice. Many thanks!

Bravo. This is the most magnificently comprehensive tutorial I could have asked for. I particularly love how you contrast the two decrease methods for each stitch (traditional vs. invisible) so your viewers can decide for themselves which method they should use for their own projects. Well done.

Thank you for this. I'm working on a sackboy (from Little Big Planet) and the designer called for a invisible decrease. I had no clue what she was on about. I've been following you for over a year now so I am super glad to have found that you did a video for this as well. You just explain things in simple terms.

Excellent ! this REALLY helped me with a sock pattern I've been struggling with. The traditional 2 hdc together at the end of each row was incredibly bulky and unsightly. This made my day!

I love You Tube. I don’t crochet using decreasing very much so I came to refresh my memory. Oh my, this is so easy and I love the fact that you cannot really see it that much. So I’ll not just like but subscribe. I look forward to other videos from you. By the way, I like your method of teaching and you explain very nicely, and show both but compare the benefits and/or drawbacks. I’ll be using this for future projects. Thank you so much.

@annatheawesome18 жыл бұрын
I've used this technique on my amigurumi before and it only works if you have the spiral side facing outwards. I haven't successfully reversed the decrease so the leftover loops are left on the spiral side.
@shorty90614 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you can only use this on projects where you don't have to flip your work because the other side would look different?
