Nice. Very easy and still very pretty. I am currently making lap blankets to donate to our seniors at the assisted living home in my town. We have 13 people with no family or friends and will not get a Christmas gift otherwise. I make a few of theses too to donate for their tree.

Thank you for the tutorial! It was literally my second crochet creation ever. The lesson was very easy to follow, and I appreciate that you repeat the steps instead of just skipping to the next round. Got the count of the spokes wrong a bunch of times (my initial ring was too tight, so I couldn't see the spokes well), but I made it to the end and now have a beautiful little snowflake :D

Laura, I did actually think the white wool showed up better against your bluish background for the tutorial than the blue/silver wool but hey extremely clever. I ended up with 7 edges on my first one but was quite pleased for my first effort and will try again. Thank you so much.

Make it with cotton and starch it to make it hang well 😊. My mom made crochet ornaments.. I am teaching myself to crochet. I never sat still and learned when my grandma, mom and aunts crocheted all my childhood. Now at 68 when they are all gone I am teaching myself to crochet using KZbin. I am finally getting the tension and stitches somewhat consistent on single and double crochet. I would like to try this, but I am a bit intimidated. I think I will practice a bit longer then try it with cotton yarn. If it looks anything at all like a snowflake I will hang it on my tree 😊

I am starting Christmas gifts; making my daughter-in-law a nice winter scarf in an assortment of her favorite colors. Using this snowflake design with ( Caron Simply Soft party Snow Sparkle ) as an appliqué all over the scarf. Instead of a fringe on the scarf, I will crochet icicles with that snowflake yarn. I think it is going to look cute; hope she likes it.

I also failed repeatedly at this one. The place I stumble is in minute 5:15 where the finishing spikes of the snowflake begin. It is unclear why the first slip stitch is in the chain 1 space, and there is a moment after the single crochet(dc in the UK) and the ch 2 where she turns the work without warning. I think that is where it all went wrong for me, lol. I had to watch 5 times before I caught the pattern and I still need to know why the work turns at that point.
