Hello brother, i need your suggestion for my budgie as first time i have. They are around 7 month, lay egg but next day destroyed. After that female not allowing male in same cage. Personally I found if your birds are picking through there own droppings they are trying to replace there salt missing from there diet but careful observation is required when offering salt. Just like humans some birds might over do it

My veterian doctor avoid us to provide salt to our budgies. She says salt is harmful for budgies. So it is very much confusion to us. Pl. Suggest

Yes she is right. You cannot provide salt (which we use in our food) directly to them... some breeders provide salt directly or they mix it with soft food or water of birds..... Moreover, if salt is given too much, it may cause some serious damage... if salt is stuck on their feathers, they might fall.... But when you provide salt as I have shown in the video, birds can take salt only the amount they needed. As those stones are quite organic, it helps to intake salts without any complication or problems. A very good question you asked. Thank you
