@@Xerthios Whoa whoa whoa. Don't put Carrick in with the likes of Anderson, Fletcher or even Park. Carrick was a genuine talent, even back in his Spurs days. Carrick was in NO way one of those players SAF had to get the best out of. Scholes himself said Carrick was the only player he played with that could ping a ball on the same level as him. Now Carrick was no Scholes, but he was also far far better than Fletcher or Park.

The problem with Moyes at Man United was that he went in there thinking he had to rip up the foundations. He got rid of all the coaching staff, changes the players routined, micromanaged pretty much every aspect of his job and was doing things like telling Rio Ferdinand to study other, lesser defenders as if they were better than him. In tactical briefings he'd spend a lot of time talking about the opposition. At a club like Everton that was fine but at a club like Man United, with players who were the reigning champions and had it drilled into them for years by Fergie that they were the best players on the pitch in any game, it simply wasn't the way to go. It would have tough for any manager to follow Ferguson at United and while I get there's going to be a natural inclination to change everything in order to stamp your own authority, at some point you have to realise where you are and adapt to your surroundings.

Fergy the best prem manager. Before the prem, Paisley bossed it. Could do a lot more than Fergy in various areas of the game and ultimately won twice as many trophies in half the time. @alanz3497
@alanz3497 3 жыл бұрын
@@BirthOfAnEmceeTV Umm, Paisley undoubtedly had great success at Liverpool but I take exception to your comment that he won "twice as many trophies in half the time". Paisley was Liverpool manager for 9 seasons. He won 6 league titles, 3 league cups, 3 European cups, 1 uefa cup and 1 European Super Cup. A total of 14 trophies. Ferguson was Man Utd manager for 26 seasons and won 13 league titles, 5 FA Cups, 4 league cups, 2 European Champions leagues, 1 European cup winners cup, 1 European Super Cup, 1 World Club Cup and 1 Intercontinental cup. A total of 28 major trophies. So Ferguson actually won twice as many trophies as Paisley not the other way around. Ferguson also had great success at Aberdeen, both domestically and in Europe, prior to becoming Man Utd manager. And he was successful over a much longer period of time. I didn't include Charity/Community shields for either because I see that as more of a friendly but for the record Paisley won 6 and Ferguson won 10.

Moyes was never good enough for Man Utd. End of. Just go read up on what he did when he was there. Made a job that was already extremely difficult even more difficult for himself. As for the signings its not hard for 2 signings to outlast others and one of them was lucky to last beyond Moyes. He definitely should’ve been backed better, but would that have made much of a difference, I don’t think so, he was just massively out of his depth IMO. Great to see him doing well at West Ham now, It’s similar to how he was at Everton, challenging for Europe with an underdog, think that’s where he thrives.
